They could retire #57 right now and I don't think any Mets fan would object.

Guys like Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, David Cone, Dwight Gooden and Pedro Martinez pitched for the Mets. And we just saw the first no-hitter in team history.
That's crazy. We truly witnessed history. |

The Mets bring the fences in, and they get a no-hitter. They had it wrong all along.

Collins looks distraught as fuck on the post-game. He knew he had to let Johan go for it. But he legit looks concerned about how Johan will feel in 5 days. They were planning on never allowing him to go over 110 pitches this season.
It was worth it no matter what, Terry. That moment can never be taken away. |

The Beltran play is a rare moment when I'm happy that we don't have instant replay yet. Thank you Selig!

Cubs trying to come back from 4 runs down in the ninth. Soriano hit a 3 run shot. Now two on with one out.

Colby Lewis can't win. Greendale Humans need a good performance from Dickey and Hamels tomorrow. Being below Droford in the rankings is unsettling.

I expected to come in here and see Vito have alot of his posts in caps and large font.
Instead, he was pretty mellow. Congrats to you and your team, Vito. |

Alfonso Soriano strikes out a lot, but when he actually gets a hold of one, it's a beautiful sight.

It really does feel like they finally got some measure of revenge on the Cardinals for the 06 NLCS. The symmetry was insane with 3 of the 4 key players from that game being involved. Wainwright gets roughed up. Beltran's blown call. Molina being the closest to getting a hit only to be robbed by Mike Baxter, who grew up in Queens as a Mets fan.
It would not surprise me in the least if the Mets induct Johan into the Mets Hall of Fame at some point down the line just for this. Once he leaves I could even see his number being retired, even if unofficially. This will always be one of my favorite sports moments of all time. |

One of the MLB Network guys was saying that Mets fans should still be waiting for that first legitimate no-hitter. Harold Reynolds pretty much told him he was retarded.

O's aquire Steve Pearce from the Yankees for cash.
Nomad Yankees 1B. Nothing special, but ain't nothing wrong with some extra cash in the pocket when the trade deadline comes around. |

Haven't felt this good about the Mets since 2006. They keep finding ways to win despite injuries (2 more to the DL today - Mike Baxter and Ramon Ramirez).

Yankees/Tigers were in a rain delay and we got Cubs/Giants to pass the time.
Both teams were sporting throwback jerseys and doing it old school throughout the stadium. What's the occasion today? |

Bases Loaded and one out with a wild Valvoline on the mound and Cano pops up, Cano draws a walk, and Ibanez grounds out. VAULTED YANKEE OFFENSE. They're batting around .150 now with the bases loaded.

Jays up 5-0 in the second on 1 hit: Bautista 3 run jack. Bard has walked 6 and hit one batter. Wow.

There have been so many weekday afternoon games this year, and the Mets have 2 more coming up this week. Fucking sucks when your only way to follow the game at work is via phone updates.

Bard stunk badly tonight and was even worse than his usual bad outings he has.
6 walks, 5 runs allowed, and 2 batters plunked in under 2 innings pitched. |
