Q&A #4 Highlights
  • Maybe before SummerSlam we get roster/preorder related info
  • Stamina is now Adrenaline and the Adrenaline will deplete preventing running if legs are damaged
  • Irish-whipped is a different story, you'll be sent into the ropes running regardless of adrenaline
  • Falling down running while out of adrenaline is fixed, you'll simply walk until it rises again
  • Move interrupts will acted the same regarless of strike/running strike/grapple
  • There's a time limit in interruping moves meaning after the move gets to a certain point, it can't be interruped
  • Main Eventers arn't the only ones with the Comeback ability as not all of them do, low-tier superstars that know how to "WRESTLE" have good comeback moves
  • All Royal Rumble elimation button mashing is GONE to combat against turbo controllers, instead they are using the existing mini-game time/guessing based like the turnbuckle style
  • Roster is pretty much the size of last year with big name superstars and cool legends
  • Cory went on record saying it's one the best rosters they've had and dlc will expand on it

It's beginning to sound like last year was the most ambitious and this is just a few tweaks. That physics engine was a great addition, now we just have moves that can only be interrupted one way and little tweaks here and there.

I have realised that I interpreted it like there's one interrupt move so everyone involved in the move is suddenly in the right animation (ie he was picking him up for a piledriver, but when the moves interrupted, it's suddenly a bodyslam or something), but it could be one type of interrupt per move, which could be tolerable.

Just hoping that now they've gotten rid of teleporting moves, they don't replace them with teleporting interrupts.

I hope they fix it so that cashing in MITB doesn't completely skip the championship match proceeding it.

So far this games looks just like the last 3 games, I was watching those gameplay videos and the movement is stiff and looks like nothing really change, I don't get the reason behind the renaming.

From a previous Q&A I think, THQ said the gameplay has changed a bit from the most recent videos. It flows more fluidly. For us to determine that, however, we'll need to wait for when they show off a more recent build as they talking about their current build(I.E. not the one we've seen).

It is getting better. Dunno if you played last year's game but tons of stuff got reanimated, a proper physics engine was added (it was buggy but still an improvement) and top rope moves were improved (not all the way fixed).

The physics look less buggy this time and moves don't teleport you around any more. I'm still on the fence and leaning towards skipping it, but I will pick it up if I see more improvement as time goes on.

I don't think I'm sold on this game.

Unless they do a WWF No Mercy style 1 player mode or a HCTP season mode.....and i can do an all CAW season.....I might be sold.

I think I'm losing interest in video games in general. I bought All Stars and played for like an hour or so and havent touched it for a few months.

I think that depends on what games you're playing. Try something new. Not another FPS or wrestling game (unless it's very different from the genre norm). Try a genre or series you've never tried much before, you might enjoy that.

The Modding Community for the SVR series has sure exploded since last year. My PS2 SVR 2010 roster has over 150 characters. Good deal.

To be fair, every game since HCTP has had 'Classic Rock', so this is kind of new. Plus I preorder this every year anyway, so it works out okay

I've pre-ordered it every year myself, later today I'll find out if I am for sure or depending on the pre-order bonus.

I was semi-joking. For me the roster matters a little. For WWE 12 it seems like not enough has changed for me to justify a purchase. There is some things that I am interested in but just not enough. However, if it had an amazing roster..I would be more inclined to consider buying it.

That works with WWE 12, cause you know what you're getting. The same SD engine with some minor gameplay tweeks and more extra features. Not necessarily a good strategy though for games if you've never tried them. Hope you keep your receipts if you're serious about that motto...
