I am not a fan of Reese at all. She annoys me big time. Wanted Huffman to win myself.

Eh, it was the only nominated performance I saw, and it was a pretty good one.

Crash wins Best Picture
In other news, Presenter Jack Nicholson appeared to be inebriated, and I want to punch the lady who wrote Brokeback Mountain. |

Good show tonight. No way will Jon Stewart be asked back, though. He was the most entertaining host they've had in years, but you could just tell that his sense of humor wasn't winning him any fans in that audience.
"For those of you keeping score, that's Martin Scorsese - 0 Oscars. Three 6 Mafia - 1 Oscar." Great stuff. And at Crash winning. I loved Crash and Brokeback, but I had a feeling that Crash was going to be this year's Mystic River; great picture that comes out a little too early and winds up nominated the same year as a juggernaut Best Picture. Pleasantly surprised. The two awards I'm most happy about are the screenplay awards. Brokeback was the most difficult adaptation, and resulted in a wonderful movie, so it deserved it. And it's so hard to write for multiple leads, and it's even harder to make a bunch of loosely connected stories have the kind of emotional resonsance that Crash had. Spot-on analysis by the Academy voters. |

Stewart is awesome. I think they knew what they were getting into when they asked him to do it in the first place. I don't see why he wouldn't have a chance at hosting again. I'd rather see him than Billy Crystal.

YAYYYYYYYYYY Philip Seymour Hoffman. I love him SO MUCH.
And good for Crash winning. I didn't see any of the other best pic nominees besides Capote, but I probably wouldn't have liked any of them as much as Crash anyway. |

I was psyched Hoffman won best Actor. I got all the major six categories right except for Best Supporting Actor, and even then, Clooney won, and he's the won I truly wanted to win. I thought they were going to go with Gyllenhaal to avoid the whole homophobic Academy idea, but apparently Best Director was enough for them.
