I don't think so. He'd work better as a face now that he knows how to play a bad-ass, but I still don't think the time is right. I'd turn Cody Rhodes before I turned Orton. After Mania, I'm hoping to see Orton on SmackDown!, possibly working some sort of angle with Batista (almost an Evolution reunion?)

Actually that would be pretty cool having Batista and Orton reunite and start their own version of Evolution. Take a couple young guys who could be 'mentored' by Orton and Batista, and eventually be turned into main eventers. Maybe a feud with The Hart Foundation?

It could work if they kept the character he is at the minute. Not sure if they will go with an Anti Hero now though.

If they're going to break him off from Ted & Cody, it will be more interesting for him to be the face.

Well now that DiBiase has his movie "The Marine 2" it seems more likely that he'll turn face which is going to set up the DiBiase vs. Orton at WM26. They've been building up DiBiase's turn for a while and you can see that during RAW shows that DiBiase is ready for the turn. I'm guessing we'll see the turn at EC.

I don't think so.... They tried that once and it did not work so well...... But if they decide to push DiBiase as a heel, they will pretty much have no choice but to have Orton turn face

I don't want to see this feud between Legacy's members drag on too much past WrestleMania. At least not with all three members on the same brand. It'd just be too...much. Orton's feuds often suffer from repetition, and after "Legacy errupts," I don't think there is too much further they can go with it. Maybe they will be on opposing teams at the rumoured "War Games" replacement for Judgment Day, but having all three members involved would just be overkill. I have a feeling that someone (probably Cody Rhodes) will become a third wheel very fast. Also, as talented as they are, I don't feel as if their matches will exactly be the spice of life. It's not going to be the magic of seeing Shawn Michaels hook up with Chris Jericho at every PPV.
That being said, here is how I would go about the break-up: Ted DiBiase and Randy Orton work together for a bit in the Elimination Chamber; but that turns sour when Ted DiBiase manages to school boy Orton for a three count, and giving the fans the shock of seeing DiBiase pin Orton. Teddy is all like "what can you do?" when Orton glares at him after the fall, so Orton drills DiBiase with an RKO. Someone then pins DiBiase (probably a heel, due to the opportunistic nature of the pin, and because you want to probably send sublimenal face messages about Ted DiBiase. From there, you have both men wanting to kill the other man. But get Cody Rhodes involved on an edition of RAW, where he hits both men with a steel chair, essentially stating that Ted DiBiase thinks he is a bigger star than Rhodes, and Orton did some horrible shit to his father, so now he is going into business for himself. Triple Threat at WrestleMania XXVI. Done. From there, because I feel that they are the top three heels in the WWE, I think Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and CM Punk need to be divided amongst the brands in a 2:1 ratio. To be honest, as SmackDown! is the best at making new stars, they should probably get just one of the big heels, while RAW takes two that are already established. So you'd either get Randy Orton and CM Punk or Chris Jericho on RAW; or Chris Jericho and CM Punk on RAW with Orton being drafted to SmackDown!. Batista should probably stay on SmackDown!. As for DiBiase and Rhodes; I'd probably continue them feuding, as I think that has potential. If Orton stays on RAW, then send them both to SmackDown!. If Orton goes to SmackDown!, then keep them on RAW. Last edited by Mr. Nerfect; 02-04-2010 at 11:29 AM. |

I think it'd make sense for Orton to go face here, if he can play the badass. But of course, whenever anyone turns face nowadays, they completely lose the traits that made them popular in the first place. But, anyway...
I'd like to see Orton taken out by Legacy, turning Orton face. Orton comes back to battle Legacy, and he has a partner (not sure who, but someone who needs to get over and can relate to Orton). This way, it varies up the Mania card with a well-built tag team match (I keep seeing only singles matches and MITB for projected cards), and plus I'm not a fan of triple threat matches when there is nothing on the line. And having Orton fight only one Legacy member with the other as a manager would be a waste IMO. |

I'd like to see them break up with Orton being a heel, then attempt a double turn at a ppv a few weeks later.

Orton hears voices in his head...they talk to him, they understand.
He'll do what they tell him to do. If that means kissing babies and passing out puppies at Wrestlemania then, yeah, he'll suck it up and do it. |

I don't think they have a choice, the crowd is turning him. I just hope they don't kill his character

Orton should never be anything more than a tweener. Heel or tweener should be the only option.

It would be awesome if Orton turned face and cena turned heel but they pretty much stayed the same in their characters. Orton= anti hero while Cena= homo who tries too hard and is clearly a corporate shill.
I mean we'd have to see Orton vs. Cena again but at least the WWE would finally have to admit how much of a fag Cena's character is and Orton could actually go over properly. Think Austin vs. Bret but not quite as good. |

He was bland as hell as a face. He's matured a lot professionaly since then. As much as I enjoy his heel work/facials/mannerisms, I'd be curious to see how a face run would turn out.

I don't think it actually matters what the fans do. That aside, Orton's getting cheered for his current role. "turning face" will likely result in another shitty "I'm a good guy now" run, and therefore suck. Which begs the question: Why mess with something that's working?
