TPWW Movie of the Day 6-22-04
Man On The Moon (1999)
Starring: Jim Carrey, Danny DeVito, Courtney Love, Paul Giamatti Plot Summary: A biopic based on the life of Andy Kaufman, an eccentric comedian who went onto enjoy a career as lovable foreign car mechanic Latka Gravas on TV's "Taxi" and later gained infamy as an inter-gender wrestling champ. The film studies some of Kaufman's comedy antics as well as his personal life and his relationship with his manager George Shapiro, his best friend/partner Bob Zmuda and his girlfriend Lynne Margulies. The best movie based on a true story I've ever seen. Also, Jim Carrey gives one of my favorite performances ever. My Rating: 10/10 |

It was pretty damn good, but I made the mistake of watching it with my mom. She totally doesn't get his twisted sense of humour.

I've seen most of the real TV performances shown in that movie and I must say that Jim Carrey does them masterfully. This movie is terribly underrated.

I thought it was a good movie too...I went to see it with a friend who doesn't tend to like Jim Carrey movies and he liked it too.
