Standing ovations in the theater?
What movies have you seen in the theater where the entire audience stood up and applauded at the end.
I can only remember it happening once and that was with 50 First Dates. The movie was quite good but |

People started clapping at the end of Napoleon Dynamite. Not standing ovation, but an ovation.
Some other stuff too. I don't remember. |

I guess the term "standing ovation" isn't really what I mean...
The people are applauding the movie but also standing up to leave. Either way. |

People stood and clapped for The Matrix reloaded and revolutions. It was sorta a mix stand and clap though because you had the people like me who were not that pleased.
but When I saw The Mummy Returns and Spiderman everyone stood up and clapped at the end of it. Those had to be the big moments. |

I've never actually clapped, but I have said things once a film is over, like "now that's a good movie", "great ending, can't wait for the next" etc.

The only thing I've ever really seen of note is at the end of the pianist, first time I saw it. Everyone just sat there in silence til the end of the credits.

Only "movie" i've ever seen get a standing ovation is the Terminator 2 3-D show at Universal Studios...kinda understandable as it's a great show, and the people who run it could hear the applause...

Clapping for a movie is as retarded as talking/saying things to it. These people need to be slapped.

I've never seen someone clap in the cinema and like Destroyer if they did I'd give them a weird look.
I hate it when you get someone who has a really stuoid laugh and then everyone laughs and you can't hear the fucking film. |

Here in Canada we don't applaud...even laughter isn't acceptable . One time I was in Kentucky though and saw Independance Day and people applauded when it was over.

Yeah it's happened to me once before but for the life of me I can't remember which movie it was where everyone did it. Might have been Titanic, can't remember cos it was back in the day. Recently though when I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2, everyone stayed in their seats through the whole credits roll at the end of the film. I'd never seen that before.
