Page File Usage History
My Task Manager is bitching about the comp having low memory for the PF Usage. I totally forgot how to cut this down to size and free it up. Anybody can help me out with this?

If you have more than one Internal hard drive, it pays to put the page file on one that's different to your Operating System drive. I usually turn the page file off completely, run a defrag, and then recreate it, making the minimum and maximum sizes the same, stops fragmentation of the page file.

So, what's a good number to set the Minimum and Maximum at? My desktop has 512 mbs of Ram and the Page File is set at 756 - 1152.

It's in the link I posted: 1.5 times your RAM for the minimum, 3 times for the maximum.

Nah, set them at the same.
If I had 512mb of ram, I'd set it at 2048, min and max. |
