I didn't watch the whole thing when I posted that it only took one Warrior promo to make me laugh...JR also makes a good point. Warrior should have subtitles.

Shuji Kondo vs Kaz Hayashi
Amazing fucking match. Really wish wwe would give their cruiserweights the kind of time these guys get. There is a high spot at tue end which will have all your jaws on the floor. Also, check out Kondo's SIC ASS inverted texas cloverleaf submission. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8vnP_hqhy...elated&search= |

Don't know if this has appeared in this thread yet, but I found a clip of the APA from 2001 *trying* to shoot a brief promo for a UPN affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Key word here is *trying*. http://youtube.com/watch?v=iE-ACHpjRsg |

Daniel Puder putting a Kimora on Angle
abit unprofessional of Puder if you ask me, i dont think Angle was going into that lockup trying to actually submit him. |

EDIT: Actually, after watching it again it looks like Angle slipped out but still, given the chance, I think Kurt would have gone for a submission. He just never got the chance. Last edited by CSL; 10-26-2006 at 01:09 PM. |

Shut the fuck up! Pruder entered into a contest to win a $1m contract with the WWE - why wouldn't he do everything in his power to win? Fair play for going toe to toe with Angle and trying to make a name for himself

Puder did have a lock and it wasn't unprofessional at all. It was shoot, he did what he had to do. Although, I don't think it would have worked anyway. A kimura style keylock is effective, but it is very hard to keep it and lock it in from a bottom side mount position. If he could have rolled Angle over, then he would've had a better chance at submitting him.

I think what people forget is that was "wrestling" contest. Not a MMA contest. Puder had a Kimora big fucking deal. Angle took it and pinned him. Come on. Not that impressive on eithers side of the coin, but especially not Puders. Two take downs and a pin = Kurt's the winner. OMG HE GOT A SUBMISSION ON KURT THOUGH HE IS A BADASS. Shut it plz.

FFS,
It's the stupid writers fault for going out there and letting green guys shoot in the first place. This isn't UFC after all |

If you listen to that after angle "pins him" and puder holds his hand out you can hear angle say "don't you know any better?" then "are you stupid?" Can't make out much more than that though.

Puder claims he was trying to break Angle's arm, and that he couldn't understand why it didn't break. Angle claims that he was physically weak at that time due to injury, and that if he were to spar with Puder NOW that Puder would never get him in the armlock to begin with.
The way I see it is simple: both men are smarting. Puder, because he couldn't squeeze a submission out of Angle (who would probably rather suffer a broken arm than tap out on TV in a shoot) and Angle because he was put in a humiliating position by challenging a young "punk" to a shoot and having to be bailed out of it by a questionable referee fast count. |

In all fairness to the self-proclaimed Flippy McSpot Monkey Jack Evans, he's drastically improved as a wrestler since working in Japan. He's moved away from the purely spot-based style to a stronger, more all-around high flying style.

I will never call anything spot monkey related great. You can like mindless wrestling all you want, I come from a different era. Kayfabe era WAY > this spot era.
