Missed Feuds

What are some feuds that you wish you were able to see over the years, as in they were either aborted or never pursued? I'm not necessarily referring the fantasy feuds like Andre-Big Show or Hogan-Cena, but rather era-specific grudges.

For me it would be Jericho's first angle with Ken Shamrock. It lasted a few weeks before Shamrock left the company, but I absolutely loved it. Their personalities were diametrically opposed and I don't doubt that they would have delivered in the ring and I feel that that angle would have bettered helped to establish Jericho early in his WWF run.

Probably not what you meant, but I felt like the Redneck Wrecking Crew should have been aligned with Edge for more than just the one cage match. As in, the duo should have been the blocking pads for the champion.

There was one the mark in me wanted to see back in 2000 that never amounted to much. I remember Nitro was closing with Hulk Hogan in the ring, and Bret Hart came out with a chair and then the cameras stopped rolling. Of course this was before the internet really took off, and so I was left in suspense all week until the next Nitro to learn Hart attacked Hogan due to Hogan always dodging matches with Hart, or something along those lines.

Anyways, that was the end of it coz Hart was gone again after that appearance due to his concussion at the time.

Even though they didn't really have any history or w/e, but would have loved to see Austin/Goldberg during the WCW buyout/invasion... just seemed to make so much sense but never even came close to happening

Christian John Cena in 05. Christian was gaining steam and Cena was transitioning to face of the company. Could've been a fresh, new drawn out feud to help the company transition into a new era of characters. Instead it was blown off in a triple threat, Christian moved to Smackdown then left.

John Cena vs. Christian in 2005 when lots of potential.

Austin vs. Hogan after the 2005 Hall of Fame (I think that was the year?) Should have happened.

I don't understand why Chris Jericho vs. Undertaker never occurred.

Kofi vs Orton. Barely last a month I think and pretty much was one sided but also ended up being the most interesting stuff Kofi was involved with in a long while.

I know they did a run together on Smackdown, but revisiting that feud at the peak of Cena's run and Taker's streak would've been free money.

They can still do that by the way.

For Undertaker's last match (next year's Mania?) he challenges John Cena.

The storyline would definitely be there. Back in 2002, Taker shook Cena's hand after Cena's first match against Angle.

I think it would also be cool if Undertaker fought Chris Jericho..........with both men stating that it will be their last match ever.

Curtis Axel vs Punk should have been more serious and without Ryback involved. If Axel was built as the next Paul Heyman guy and had a strong feud with Punk, he might not be in the spot he is now.

Stone Cold Steve Austin:

I still can't help but think that Austin should be given one last "run" in the WWE where he challenges, in succession, Hogan, Goldberg, and then John Cena. Austin defeats Hogan and Goldberg, and then loses to Cena in his final match ever.

Would be nice but I can't see this happening.

This. 100%

Tensai v Yoshi Tatsu. Yeah, laugh it up, but Yoshi being "insulted" by the big white guy going all weeaboo should have been the basis for a full out battle, like a male Awesome Kong vs Gail Kim, not a one off squash match never mentioned again. Hell, they could've even added some explanation to Albert's whipping boy Sakimoto, and had Yoshi try to "save" him from worshipping this guy.

Ken Kennedy as McMahon's bastard child was a missed opportunity. An eventual face turn on his part and then feud with McMahon would have made him a star without a doubt. Of course then all the shit with Orton and his own injuries happened and, well, that was that.

Awesome Kong/Kharma vs the Divas was also one I really wanted to see. Could have been the thing to boost the Divas' division to a new level. Plus Kong vs AJ Lee would have been an amazing match/feud.

Would have loved for Kennedy to have stayed healthy in 2007 and gone on to challenge Undertaker for the WHC. Their PPV matches were epically awesome and I have no doubt the build to and match for such a scenario would've been amazing.

Also, would've enjoyed seeing them follow up on Snitsky and Heidenreich's backstage interaction at some PPV (forget which) and somehow building a feud out of it...could've been great for both guys, but instead both are now gone.

Ziggler vs. Jericho never really hit the ground as much as it could have. Jericho once said he was always going to be around to make sure Dolph had a hard time -- then Jericho feuded with Fandango. Also, once they went that route, they should have gone further. It really could have embedded Fandango.

The Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett. The Nexus helped Kane bury The Undertaker...then nothing. Barrett should have been Taker's WrestleMania opponent in 2011. Would you have had him end the streak? Maybe not, but having The Nexus all take shots trying to soften Taker up would have put it into doubt.

Speaking of Barrett, he and Punk never really got into a thing once Punk stole the Nexus from Barrett. Shouldn't he have been really pissed?

Cena vs. Punk. I think Punk targeted Cena when he got the Nexus, but that stopped quickly and Cena moved onto Miz and Punk onto Orton...because.

Cesaro vs. Swagger never got the steam it should have. They added Rob Van Dam for no real good reason (probably because they wanted a face in there), but it was a personal issue between those two and I felt it diluted the feud more than anything.

Punk vs. Undertaker in 2009 was pretty much dropped suddenly and Edge was inserted into the picture. As a heel, Punk was KILLING IT on SmackDown, and the hinted alliance between Punk and Vince McMahon never went anywhere.
