Metalik-Tozawa and Kendrick-Ibushi matches were really great this week.
Was wondering if the Ibushi count out botch was going to be kept and pretty smart decision by the WWE to get rid of it. Made that ending moment with Kendrick and Bryan a lot more special as a result. |

I'm changing my official pick for this tournament. Given the departure of Del Rio, Kalisto not really catching on like they would have hoped, Sin Cara having been pummeled into the ground and Andrade Almas being kind of flat -- I can honestly see Gran Metalik taking the whole thing.

Kalisto not catching on feels like WWE's fault. The guy has all the tools, I just don't think WWE know how to create a Hispanic star.
I bet even Rey Mysterio would have flopped had he been a total unknown when he first came into WWE. |

Oh yeah, I wouldn't blame it all on Kalisto. He had those heat vacuum feuds with Alberto Del Rio and Ryback as US Champion, but I don't think he really endeared himself as a guy to carry a belt. When he comes back from injury, I'd like to see him work with a guy like The Miz (as long as he isn't still IC Champion). He needs an opponent that can draw attention to their program and make it feel like something is on the line and that Kalisto winning means something for his overall direction in wrestling.

Okay. I think they should have had Tajiri on a RAW division and Tozawa in a SmackDown division. Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher would have also been good in a SmackDown one. Sean Maluta could have been brought in to SmackDown too. The Usos & Sean Maluta vs. The Vaudevillains & Jack Gallagher.
I know that there isn't a SmackDown division, but that's annoying to me. |

They barely had enough time for the main event, yet they had time for Kane/Fandango bullshit, Shane stammering in the back, a pointless Miz vs. Apollo Crews match, a terrible Divas talky segment and a Divas match that went too long.

Yeah Noam Dar is boring as hell. Probably my second least favorite guy in the tournament after Ho Ho Lun.

Not really feeling TJ Perkins as a Final Four type guy in this competition. Would have gone with either Gargano or Swann instead.
Then again liked Tozawa a lot more than Metalik but him losing made sense since WWE didn't want more than one nation in the Final Four and Ibushi is the bigger name. Also made the Final Four as a showcase for each different style in wrestling (Puro, US indie, British, and Lucha). |

I dunno TJ seems super fucking smooth in everything he does. Seems really good.
On that note, fuck Full Sail University. Perkins put on a great performance, but gets boos and chants of bullshit, because he beat their gay wet dream johnny gargano. As if Perkins booked himself to win. Fucking idiots. I didn't like Noam Dar either, but even though he was still a liitle clumsy and off at times, they still had a really enjoyable match. I think with some more travel and experience, Dar could really make something of himself. |

All these guys are great wrestlers, what's not to like? Sure, not all of them have the personality to go with it, but the Cruiserweights have always been all about the flashy moves (for the most part)

Maybe I'm just biased. I've always preferred good wrestling over flashy personalities and mic skills.

I dunno, I used to be the same, but now I kind of think good wrestling blends together without some sort of context to make it stand out. The drama of this tournament has been pretty good. There's a part of me that wishes it would just stay an isolated annual thing. Sprinkle in the guys that really make a good impression. Kota Ibushi could easily replenish a roster space on NXT, for example.

I think I said this earlier in the thread, but TJ Perkins looks way different to how I imagined him. Good looking young man. I hope he does well in WWE. Tony Nese is their perfect cruiserweight too. He's like a little Chris Masters.

TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, Kota Ibushi, Jack Gallagher, Rich Swann...I think those are the ones I would really like to see stick around after this is over. I've been incredibly impressed with this tournament. It's good to know that someone in WWE is thinking this way. Exciting stuff.
I really do think that Perkins is the shining star, though. I had seen him plenty of times in ROH and in TNA as Suicide/Manik...but something about the CWC brought out the star potential in him. I'd like him to win the whole thing. He won't. But it would be awesome. |

I'm of two minds about this. There is part of me that still wants to guess Kota Ibushi wins the whole thing, but there is part of me that thinks we might get a Gran Metalik vs. TJ Perkins final. But that seems to go against the whole stride of the tournament, doesn't it? Gran Metalik vs. Kota Ibushi in the final makes a bit more sense, and then I really wouldn't have a clue who they are going to put over.
Zack Sabre, Jr. could definitely make it, don't get me wrong, but it seems he's getting a bit of backlash by some of the higher-ups. I was going with either him or Ibushi at the start, but I honestly think he might be out in the semis here. |

I have no idea how two guys who just fought immediately before will go ~40-45 min.

If the rumors of Ibushi and Sabre not sticking around after the tournament are true, I think it would be a waste to put either of them over in the final. I'm Team TJ tonight.

Ibushi is a major star and can go. Putting him to the finals and putting over their new cruiser "champ" makes sense. Keeps Metalik vs Perkins Fresh for later. it makes sense to get all the work out of the guys leaving that you can.

I have no problem with any of the guys winning, but I agree with ABT- a signee should be put over. Gran Metalik is my top choice.
TJP beating Gargano, then Swann and then Ibushi if that happens will have cemented him already, maybe even as a heel. |

Is there going to be a breather match? NXT Takeovers have run over before, a quick 10 minute tag of DIY V the Bollywood Boys might be good instead of going straight into the final.

Ciampa and Gargano are tagging against someone. I don't think it's The Revival, but it might be. They mentioned it on NXT.

I honestly don't think they knew about the Raw cruiserweight division before starting this tournament either, so they might have originally been going with Ibushi and now want to give the rub to a signed guy. |
