Exclamation Lil Nog vs Gustafsson to headline UFC Sweden..

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/mma/p...r-ufc/600549/1

Supposedly Hendo was offered Lil Nog as a number one contender spot, for the shot after the winner of Evans/Davis but turned it down..

Dunno..

Word is Jon Jones wants to fight soon so Hendo might get him while the winner of Davis/Evans recovers.

That division is a roller coaster ride.

Really, at this point, Lil Nog isn't a big enough fight for Hendo. He should be in crazy showcase fights against big drawing names, or fighting the Champ. He's so easily marketable, Dana shouldn't waste him against Nog as he just is nowhere near the top of the division. (See: Loss to Phil Davis and questionable decision to Jason Brilz AND loss to Ryan Bader)

-You could say Hendo is ducking Lil Nog since he does not match up well with the Nog's jits skillsets and taking the fight risks his title shot chances. Not too mention pushes back a potential fight to mid/late in the year which will only benefit the younger Jones and hinder the older Hendo. One the other hand, Hendo could be waiting to find out the outcome of Evans/Davis and waiting to see if the winner comes out injured.

-Not too sure what Lil Nog has done to earn a number 1 contender title shot? Sure he submitted Hendo years ago, but thrashing an over-the-hill Tito Ortiz in 2011 after losing to Bader and Davis does not cut for me.

-I think the Evans/Davis fight could prove to be a real tough battle and the winner could end up on the medical suspension list. Although, it could push a Jones fight even further back. Which in turn would push a Hendo title shot even farther back.

-Lil Nog/Gustafsson should be a good fight. Not sure how well it is going to draw PPV buys (if it is not free here since its overseas?)

I kind of just wish the UFC would book Jones versus Hendo for April or May and the winner meets Evans or Davis in August/September/October.
