Thought process of 90% of online:
Alright, great new game just came out, tons of new mechanics and characters to try out....now who should I pick... (Insert any combination of Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Sagat) BRILLIANT! |

Dunno, feels like a good starting point to me for those that don't want to piss about in training mode. It's why I went straight for Ibuki and Akuma first off because I played them so much in SF4 that I'd know the moves off-hand and slowly learn them with the new mechanics. Therefore I'd know what works from SF4 and what doesn't and take the parts that do work when I jump off and try new characters.
If they never move on from them, they're pretty much tards, but I think it's a really valid starting point. |

Doesn't make a difference. I just rather not pay for them. I want my fucking colors and after a million games where colors weren't a problem now it seems I may have to buy color packs. Thought it was funny on 3sOE but not so cute now.
Really I just need purple. |

Mass Effect 3 and a new girlfriend are keeping me away from this. Didn't even get to finish the tutorial yesterday.

Really hope they fix the detection zones for analog input in the next patch. Wonder if they even know about it.
It's not just jumping thats a problem either. It's also a factor in the other direction, as I've blocked low, but still gotten sweeped. Don't know how they screwed this up. |

Yeah, but it's a bit of a contradiction for them to be completely free, and locked on disc. Doesn't make any sense. I'm betting the first couple packs will be free, and then they'll start charging.

So what are the chances of a 'Super Crazy Turbo Street Fighter X Wavey Tekken HD Winner' type of release?

They have officially said that this will be the only disc based version of the game and any updates would be downloads.

I have to utilize cross cancels and tag cancels more. Too often I lose a round, because I'm under pressure, and I'm waiting to use a raw tag or boost combo.
Heihachi is probably my main right now. He is just so nasty once he gets inside. Has a bunch of mix up normals that actually look like they are going to hit one way, and then hit the opposite. I also got down a pretty nasty combo into his super. Since they both need 3 bars, I'll have to check the combo I have into his cross art and see which one does more damage. Julia and Nina are tied for number 2 at the moment, though I feel like with a little more time with julia, and she'll be ahead. She's really deadly at mid range, as her normals are super fast and have very long reach. I'm trying to learn king, but he's pretty damn hard to use effectively. Yet to hit a single dragon screw or running power bomb in game. |

Oddly enough, I hit a bunch of his dragon screw counters when messing with him. His Jaguar Step is fucking awesome, too. Probably won't pick him up still.
My Jin is getting better, I just have to remember this is still mostly Street Fighter. Like my Taki in SC4, his game completely changes between mid and far range. He's useless full screen, so I have to stay in - which is really the crutch of the game anyway. Cammy is getting back into her SSF4 glory. Possibly dropping Asuka, just not working for me. Absolutely no anti-air game and her strings aren't too good. There's some mix-up, and her juggle game seems good. I just don't know her vibe yet. Ken is great as a tag cancel guy, he'll be working with Jin more. Cammy/Jin looks like my main team for now. Playing with the pad feels so ugly. |

I know that if I stick to just a few characters, I'll get better faster, but fuck there are so many characters that are fun to use. Right now, I'm using Heihachi, Nina, Julia, King, Lili, Asuka, and Juri the most, but there are so many other characters I want to get better with.
This was a bit of a problem for me in SSF4, and fighting games in general, tbh, but this game takes it to new levels for me. Everyone on the roster seems really great. Except Marduk. Seems like he has very few useful tools, and he is mind numbingly slow. Kalyx beat the shit out of me when I picked him. |

Got the game today. I downloaded the 45 extra gems but I think I ended up going with reguilar gems.
The arcade cabinet piggy bank is higher quality than I thought. I thought it would be one of those cheap folding cardboard things but it's actually plastic. I'm a bit uneasy trying to push certain parts togethor incase it breaks. The little comic/manga that comes with it isn't all that great. Basically, it's a mini comic that just has a few pages of of Ryu and Kasuya fighting. Though there is a page or two that shows you where Pandora came from. SPOILER: show Tried out the colour editor and it is completely useless right now. Until they bring out actual colours, all we can do is make mime versions of each character. I wanted to give Poison a red outfit but I had to settle for a blonde hair goth Poison. Gameplaywise, I've never really needed to use Pandora and I can get through Arcade without tagging out, so I just need Zangief. That's probably going to be a problem in the long run because then I'd be good with one character and useless with his partner. Hoping to get to grips with someone else. Has anyone else been doing things by mistake? I was just attacking and ended up doing that auto combo thing unintentionally twice. Also, I'm pretty sure I pressed H.Kick and I did H.Punch. |

Yeah, the quick combos are a pain in the ass. Def gonna end up removing them from the sticks as inputs.

Does anyone have a schedule for DLC? Even a rough one with just a month listed.
I googled it and found nothing. |

They've now said that all the character DLC is coming in Autumn after debuting on the Vita earlier than that.
Not sure about costumes/colours. |

I knew about the characters being after the Vita release. I was hoping for the colours, really.
I'd quite enjoy making my own colour scheme for the characters and I can't do that with just black and white. You'd think they'd have at least included red, green and blue. |

Purple seems like a colour that would be held back a while. I don't know why, it just seems like it. Red, green and blue are primary colours so you'd think they'd have at least included those.

You're welcome. It just has a "luxury" look to it. Like it would be in a pack with gold and silver etc. Probably because it's used in a lot for "regal" things.

Well bodes bad for me. Purple is my go-to color for anything that allows me color edit.
Heh, figures with Capcom bringing back color edit there'd be wild catch. |

I'm hoping colours are all free but then it makes no sense to make them DLC when they are on the disc and are free so we might have to pay.
The controls seem strange in the game. I was trying to jump diagonally in a ranked match and I did a jumping H.Punch instead. Blocking seems sketchy online too. The control thing happened offline as well. I've never had any trouble with any other game or any other part of this game when it comes to controls. It's just when I'm in a match once in a while. I did the input for a SPD and got a German suplex instead at one point. Speaking of SPD, I did a Pandora FAB in training and it did damage, as you'd expect, but when I tried the same thing in a match against the AI, only the SPD section of the Pandora FAB did damage. The suplexes did nothing. Though that's only happened once. |

Yeah, diagonal inputs on the analog have been a problem. Not a huge problem mind you, it's just that it's different from SSF4. I do hope they change it in a patch, but looking at other forums, not many people seem to be talking about it. Likely because it's only a problem on the analog stick, and a lot of people either use the d-pad, or own an arcade stick/fight pad.
I personally find anything more than a quarter circle motion difficult to perform on a pad, and I can't afford yet another arcade stick atm, so I'm stuck with the shit jumping. Weird, because I don't have trouble blocking low anymore but I still do neutral jumps. |

If they don't patch it, I'm screwed because I've only ever played the 360 games with a regular pad. I'd be awful with a stick.
Plus, they're expensive and I break everything I touch far to easily. I can't afford to pay £60 for a stick, break it, spend another £60 on a new one etc. Online is weird for me too. Besides the high amount of lag I seem to get and the weird controls, I was playing against a guy and he activated the auto combo and he flashed white etc and then he stopped mid combo (he was missing me) and I flashed white and I was doing one though I hadn't pressed the buttons for it. So, either I've got a lot of bad luck with glitches or my 360 is haunted. Speaking of glitches, I unlocked a SFxT achievement and it glitched my gamerscore. I've gone from 20000+ to 10 and I can't seem to fix it. |

Played a few matches with Fignuts. I got pretty much whipped whenever Zangief wasn't on the screen. No chance against his Heihachi.
I've moaned about it for the last 24 hours but the controls online are wrecked. At one point, playing as Guile, I was walking towards Fignuts and Guile seems to randomly decide he'd like to do an auto combo. So I'm not pressing anything but the stick and, still, the game does things on its own. H.Punch at random seems to be popular aswell. I'm going to go see if I can report the issue to Capcom. |
