Should TNA be looking to sign "big name indie guys"?
Alot of the more well known independent wrestlers have been signed by the WWE and it has "almost" pleased the IWC. Should TNA do something similar and bring in let's say Chris Hero, Michael Elgin and Eddie Kingston to help them generate the same kinda "buzz" WWE got when they brought in Generico, Steen and PAC?

The way it stands I think a developmental deal in WWE works out better for most Indy guys than signing with TNA, worst case they get cut and can be Indy darlings and Ex WWE talents at the same time, Dixie loves that.

And that will be his name: Hashtag HABM, and they "pronounce" instead of treating it as initials. Cue jokes from Tenay about Taz not being much bigger; requisite feud with Rockstar Spud, etc.
Unrelated (sort of, because they'd bring buzz to TNA if brought in) I watch ROH pretty irregularly in the syndicated cable shitty weekend ECW-esque timeslot, and #demboys make me think about that idea for Vinnie Mac's Army of Hobos stable. |

Hard to sign talent and convince them they will be on TV when your weekly show does not have a TV deal.....

TNA managed to recently bring back Low Ki and Homicide. Does it get much bigger than that on the independent scene? Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole, Michael Elgin, etc. are all probably working under fixed contracts for ROH and WNNLive or whatever the company that Gabe Sapolsky now books for is called.
But TNA has had its chance for years to get younger guys over. They had AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. When they had Bad Influence, they decided the best heel team to feud with The Wolves was The BroMans. Robbie E. and Jessie Godderz should be in OVW perfecting their craft. The Wolves and Bad Influence should have been tearing it up at every PPV, with the company trying to convince The Briscoes and The Young Bucks to come and join them. But they didn't do that. Austin Aries got the World Title run his work earned a few years ago, but then the company had him drop the title to Jeff Hardy. Look, Hardy moves merch for the company, but it was a chance to use him to get Aries afloat as a top guy in professional wrestling. I'm not going to do a "TNA is going down the gurgler" thing, but they really need to look at who they have, and making this UK tour work. They need to have a plan in place to take their current World Champion, Bobby Roode, through the next six months. They need to have a plan as to what to do with The Hardys, so that if/when they leave, some more tag teams have been made. They need to work out which women they need to feature to make the Knockouts Title the most interesting ladies' title in the world. Why the fuck are Awesome Kong and Alissa Flash not working for the company right now? I don't know who they have in the X-Division besides Low Ki and Samoa Joe at the moment, but they need to work out a way to make them mean something too. Can both men go Broadway for the X-Division Title? I don't know. They need something there. |
