The original version was a TV mini-series rather than a film. Had a pretty great cast but I'm interested in seeing a cinematic effort.

Eh the miniseries was corny and not able to pull even half the shit in the book.
Actually want to see an IT adaptation that goes all out. |

Well the first director they had for this wanted to make it a two parter and take it in a unique direction, but the studio wants a "by the numbers" horror movie, and hounded him til he quit.
Now they have the director of Mama, which while an ok horror film, was nothing special. So I'm not expecting much from this. |

A Dark Tower film series is currently under production with McConaughey as Flagg/the Man in Black/Walter O'Dim and Idris Elba as Roland.
It'd be great if they created a shared universe with The Stand and kept McConaughey as Flagg. |

I'm not impressed with the throwback caps unless they are suppose to be in the same time frame as the original. And i'm not impressed with the short haired emo female, but assuming this is still in regular time according to the original, i'll go with it. If it's new aged bull shit. I have doubts.

I'm still gutted Will Poulter dropped out but that looks great. Tim Curry is a wonderfully odd looking man and I doubt anyone would find success doing an imitation so hopefully Bill Skarsgard brings something new to the table. Everything seems to be a remake now. Stephen King has a hundred and one short stories that would make great movies if anyone would consider doing more with them than those Dollar Babies. |

There is no way we will ever get a close adaptation of the novel. Cause the kid sex orgy from the end of the first half will have to go. Then how the hell are they going to adapt the final battle with it to film.

Never seen the original at all but always meant to , the book is my favourite of all time along with 'The Stand' so always been hesitant and I agree with the others that there's no chance in hell they would make a film which is loyal to the book.

No. It's scary but king himself has others I'd consider scarier.

I love that story. Why has nobody made that into a film yet anyway?
It's perfect for some young up and coming male actors. The kids from The Maze Runner would have been perfect. |

A lot of his short fiction is nightmarish. There's a truly terrifying tale about a man trapped on a desert island with a shitload of heroin and no food and it seriously freaked me out. Even King said he went a little too far with that one. |

Keep hearing that The Long Walk has been optioned for a film. But nothing since hearing that.I want a version of the Running Man that follows the book and isn't another overblown Arnold vanity flick.
