Checking my fantasy team, Max Scherzer is about to have 15+ strikeouts and is most likely going to wind up with the loss.
Against the Pirates. |

Emilio Bonifacio and Brandon McCarthy to the DL.
Man, between my 3 fantasy teams I must have had about 15 different players hit the DL already. |

Glad to see Francisco finally stepping it up.
I could totally see Ike Davis getting sent down soon. He looks totally lost for the most part. Wouldn't be averse to giving him a few weeks in the minors and letting Mike Baxter grab the starts against RHP at 1B, he's been killing the ball. |

Some news and notes. (from mlbtraderumors.com)
Cubs aquire Koyie Hill from the Reds for Cash. Blue Jays put Adam Lind on outright waivers. Whoever grabs him gets whatever is left of his 4-year, $18 mil. deal he signed back in '10. Orlando Hudson signs with the White Sox after being released from the Padres a few days ago. Pirates aquire Drew Sutton from the Braves for cash. The interesting piece of the news from the rumor mill is that the Phillies, Indians and D-Backs are keeping tabs on Kevin Youkilis. Nobody is working out at 1B in Philly, the Tribe needs a bat and their corner players ain't that great either. D-Backs are probably just fishing. |

Well probably get a few nice prospects for the farm, out of Dempster and Garza.

I just got an orange t-shirt printed with this
late 1970's era t-shirt transfer so it was a bit expensive for a shirt, but I think its awesome...and it should be here in time enough for me to wear it to Boston. |

Yeah, I think that teams are gonna go after Hamels first though. Cole Hamels is on the last year of his contract. And I truly believe some team is gonna give a nice package for a pitcher like that. But, definitely James Shields is gonna get a few good prospects for him.

Lance Berkman might have a torn ACL and is considering retirement.
Kinda sucks, the last of the Killer B's goes down to an injury. And Biggio and Bagwell walked away from the game. Hope he sticks around for one more season. |

Going to the Reds game tonight. I will give Larry Wayne Jones a clap or two. If he even plays.

Giancarlo Stanton with a monstrous grand slam off of Moyer
I hate the Rockies. Almost as much as I enjoy watching Stanton hit. |

Long or Girardi would be fired, or Teixeira traded for $.05 on the dollar.

Sox win and are now at .500 again. Let's hope they don't drop back down again like they did when they reached .500 awhile back.

They're an aging team. They have a roster full of aging veterans. I mean, anytime you have Andruw Jones, Raul Ibañez and Eric Chavez on the bench, alongside a declining ARod and Teixeira, you're gonna have trouble. Also, they sign Pedro Feliciano, he gets hurt, and he's out. They trade for Pineida, he gets hurt, and is out.
Thing is, I doubt the Yankees can even afford to undergo a rebuilding period of even 1 or 2 seasons, so they'll have to figure out what they do. |

Stop overpaying for players and invest in their farm system? They've only one one championship since they started "buying everything."
When they had their big championships run they had way more home-grown talent. |

The biggest problem is obviously that A-Rod and Tex are declining. A-Rod isn't a surprise being that he's 36 now. I guess Tex isn't either considering he's been declining since after 2009 but its still surprising he started declining that early in his career. He is really useless right now. Another problem is just the way their offense is constructed in the first place. Its happened a lot in the postseason in recent years - the team can't score any runs because most of the guys will just swing for the fences every time. The only guys that can realistically hit near .300 are Cano and Jeter. Injuries haven't helped at all this year with Pineda and Rivera being out for the year. And Gardner, Robertson, etc...on the DL. All that said I still think they'll be fine and make the postseason. They're in last place and still only 5.5 games out. I expect the whole AL East to continue beating up on each other and no team really running away with it. |

Ffs, is it too much to ask of the Cubs, not to completely fall out of contention, within the first 40 gam es? Seriously what the fuck?
