I gave him a 7 because he's been used like shit for the most part by WWE and as a result hasn't lived anywhere near up to his potential. However, if he ever manages to break through and stop being a glorified jobber I'd likely change it to an 8.

10 easily. Fuck WWE booking. Rusev is gold.

My first thought was "7.8," so I've rounded it up to an 8.
I submitted this to the Squared Circle Gazette podcast, but Rusev is a guy that I came around on big time. At first I thought "big foreign heel...snooze," but the dude has not only survived WWE booking, but thrived in it. He takes a face injury and turns it into comedy gold. Vince doesn't believe he is worthy of his girlfriend and he manages to outshine Dolph Ziggler in a feud. I think it's sad we live in a time where we have to say "In today's era, he has the tools to do the best with what he is given," but I think it is true. In Arn Anderson's day, we had carpenters. Now we've got lemonade brewers. They take the lemons and they turn it into something sweet. Rusev is a perfect example of that -- the modern sports entertainer. I think there is legitimate star potential in Rusev. There's a babyface charisma behind his eyes. There's a humanity there that I would like to see go against some of the WWE's major stars as a young lion looking to take over the Serengeti. Will we see it? In time, maybe, but I hope it is with a few gimmick tweaks. I think Rusev and Lana could be a modern day equivalent to Savage and Liz. Obviously less epic due to the eras, but there's some magic there. |

He took a played out evil foreigner gimmick and made it his own. He's definitely got the potential to draw with someone as a main event heel if they pushed him right. He looks credible and he's got way more personality than a "brainless brute" character typically does. I'll give him an 8.

Rusev was given a 10. He crushes even the shittiest stuff he he given. Plus he is the UpUpDownDown FIFA Champion. He brought Roman to some of his best matches ever and beat him in FIFA. He beat an Englishman for the FIFA Title thus proving he is the best.
Lana makes him a 20 not a 10. |

Solid 8.
Great presence. Good work. Marketable gimmick. Lacks strong it factor so canonly survive at the top of the roster for so long before needed to be built back up due to his persona being too reliate on win/loss. Difficult to transtion to meanjngful baby runs. Average promo. Great upper midercard/lower main event heel. |

7. Above average in the ring, great look, great gimmick, but may never get the "big time" push because of his promo work. The accent doesn't help, which is unfortunate but the reality.

I like that he is from Trollgaria, the land of STD's ancestors, but he isn't as handsome as Khali. He reminds me of a tall Hornswoggle. 4.2/7 which converts to 5/10

I wonder how many geeks would give Matt Hardy a 10 these days instead of a lowly 4?

8.
One of the very few people who made the US title look really great in recent times and one of the few great heels the WWE currently has. Like Bray, has the potential to be higher in terms of rating if its wasn't for how poorly the WWE has handled him most of the time. |

I gave him an 8. He was built up strong AF at first, only to lose the US belt to Cena, was kinda de-pushed for a bit but is once again solidified in the RAW mid-card. The only things that have really held him back are the leak about him and Lana getting IRL married and the resulting treatment of him as somewhat of a comedic character. Otherwise he would've received a 9 from me.
