They keep saying Cap's in a dark mood because he's marooned in a future time and all that. So they should have added some black to his suit similar to Bucky Cap to give him some visual edge.
Thor looks epic as always. He has a presence that, in my opinion, matches costumed Christopher Reeves in terms of nobility and power. Last edited by Kalyx triaD; 10-04-2011 at 05:38 PM. |

You know, after watching Thor again, I really can't find much fault with it at all, at least in terms of my tastes. I've very sad that the director isn't staying for the sequel, because you can really tell he respects the source material. I was ecstatic when the first screens showed up, and revealed that they were going for the Medieval-alien looking aesthetic that was prevailant in so much of the book's history. I thought they would go straight medieval, since that's what the current book's look is. And then I saw the Destroyer pic, and nearly creamed myself. I'm not saying the movie was The Dark Knight, but it really didn't do anything wrong. Probably my biggest criticism is that I thought Volstagg should have been fatter. Too bad Orson Welles is no longer with us. He would have been a great Volstagg. |

Well not in his prime, but in the prime of his fatness.

Doesn't let too much slip about the plot either, other than stuff we already know. Like exactly who the antagonists are, other than Loki.

The trailer looks awesome. The only thing I am upset about is I wish Edward Norton was still Hulk.

Yeah, I want that too. But really that's the only flaw I see with this. One piece of continuity unfulfilled.

People said Thor really got slow in between the costumed bits but that only made the Hammer's return more epic. It was actually interesting to see a superhero movie with no superheroics sprinkled in the 2nd act. Then again Thor would be the first to say he isn't anybody's superhero. He's a lovable cocky jerk.

I liked Thor. Just can't see how he can't beat everything himself now that he has his powers.
Also, is Natalie Portman in The Avengers? Don't think I have heard anything about her being in it. |

No, she'll return in Thor 2. The professor appears in Avengers, though.

Actually, that time could have been spent building up his relationship with the other members of Asgard, or giving more scene time to Loki's scheming. But still, I loved the movie and can't wait to see him in the Avengers. Quote:
But I'm sure everyone will have plenty to do, mostly because Thor won't act tooo Godly and shit. One of the worries I've seen the most is that this is gonna be the "Tony Stark Show." I'm not sure that's the case. Stark's character is the one most suited to sound bytes for the trailer, and so I'm pretty sure it won't happen. But still. Downey's been awesome, so I might just be able to live with it if it is. |

Loki mentioned in the first movie that there's ways to travel around without the Bifrost, I guess Thor found one and used it to head to Earth for his Avengers adventure. I wonder if the love angle will get a mention in Avengers (not sure how much cross-pollination script work was done, but the connections between Thor, Cap, and Iron Man were well done).
I have a feeling Thor 2 will flip things and bring the human characters (and Thor) to other worlds so everybody's a fish out of water. And we need more Warrior's Three action. |

And they can complain and lose their place on the team. I'll be Thor's waterboy anytime. Fucking AVENGERS.
They do find ways to explain their roles. Hawkeye has tranq-tipped arrows to calm Hulk down if he gets out of line. Widow is probably the go-to stealth member since everybody else blows shit up. |

El. Oh. El. That's the best thing I've heard since....Since I found out that Thor's method of transport to Earth involved an artifact located under Cheyenne Mountain. |

Surely Banner himself put something together to keep Hulk in check, the arrowhead could be Vibranium, and Hawkeye's the man to take the shot (before he starts to "root for the guy").
And since that's a plot detail, I better see Hulk toss the team around for a bit. That will be fun. |

I understand that Iron Man was the most successful of the films, but it's not as if Captain America bombed. Further more, just because Iron Man is currently enjoying some mainstream popularity, is no reason to go against decades of source material, and have Cap play second fiddle to tony. Especially since they seem to have such great respect for that material when it comes to everything else. Before Iron Man came out Cap was an cultural icon, bigger than the industry he was created, and non-comic fans didn't know Iron Man from Steel. 50 years from now Iron Man could very well fade back into cultural obscurity, but everyone will still know who Captain America is. Honestly, I don't think they need to have Tony lead just to "boost sales" or whatever. People aren't going to see the trailer for this and say "hmm if Iron Man isn't in charge I'm not going to see this." I've talked to over a dozen people about this movie who I know for a fact don't read comics, and they are excited as I am about it. Point is, the concept alone will sell this movie. You don't need to pull any crap that defies the comics and will upset the comic readers, just to attract the mainstream crowd. Everyone is going to go see this. |

I could see hawkeye being the one to bring down Hulk as a way of proving he's fit to hang with all these super types. He and widow are definitely going to have to have a badass moment or two so they don't come off as tag-alongs. |
