and to answer my own question...the internet is the most powerful marketing tool these days...so if the internet is down on your product and someone can google TNA and it takes them to a forum about how TNA sucks, it can influence that other 90% who cant think for themselves

Bischoff is lost. Maybe back in 1996-98 the internet smarks weren't that important, but this is 2011 for Christ's sake. I'm willing to bet that more than 50% of TNA's most die-hard fans are all on the internet in some form or another - they read rajah.com, they all know who Ryan Clark is, and as legendkillerRKO said above, they read others' opinions about how TNA sucks all the fucking time.

This is not your grandma's world of wrestling. If he doesn't "get" that the internet is a major arena of opinions that a company like TNA should be using as an ADVANTAGE to start catering to what the fans are actually looking for, then he's really really lost.

That 10% is about 40 or 50% of the Impact Wrestling audience, Bisch needs to smarten up a little bit. He clearly is a cancer to any wrestling company he works for. He's just in it for himself, in this case, probably to fund whatever venture he is getting into next with Jason Hervey.

Pretty sure WWE or TNA would shit themselves if thy had a suden 10% drop in ratings. The fact is, we "smarks" keep watching regardless, so that 10% of irrelevant whiners are still keeping the numbers up (even if they are poor) therefore they on't fluctuate.

Of course, there are IWC fans like me who watch all their wrestlng via YouTube and don't figure in the ratings but that is another point entirely.

whats funny about this, is alot of times you have to dig deep to find a TNA ppv stream. and when you do, it is 99 percent of the time never shut down. the last wwe ppvs stream thankfully never got shutdown, but you can see the comparison between the products. i used to be so big on TNA before hogan and bischoff, i preferred it over wwe. now TNA is like those melissa ethridge sad animal abuse commercials, i just cant watch

He's very right about this. Especially in terms of hardcore vs casual-core audiences, and it applies to all forms of entertainment. Mentioning that he's past his prime, or how TNA sucks, doesn't really effect his point.

Well, I think for the most part he is right. However, that 10% he talks about being irrelevant, well I am sure each one has two friends, and those two friends have two more. I am sure you all see where I am going with this, so the fact that he says we are irrelevant shows how he is irrelevant in the business world.

Doesn't matter - 10% is 10%, even though he's pulling that stat out his ass for conversation. It's hardcore minority vs majority fans.

Here:

The loud minority needs to understand that business appeals to the majority. Case in point: WWE's return to a PG era. If they wanted to appeal to the hardcore minority Cena would still be freestyling as a heel, Punk would be champion as a face, Divas would be slutty again, and Heyman would still have a job.

I pretty much agree with Bischoff. He is just saying that you can't cater to the minority.

Also, I believe a lot of you think the IWC is larger than it is. I would say that 10% is being generous. Average wrestling fan watches on TV, might check WWE.com and that's it. A very small percentage of people spend their entire lives bitching on obscure wrestling forums such as this one.

Seriously. You see claims on the internet all the time, be it here, Youtube, Facebook, at shows and so forth that 'people want this', 'people want that', 'WWE don't know what they're doing' etc but most don't realize it's the very small minority and most of the actual paying audience are being catered for. There is also this sense of superiority when it comes to the perceived 'marks', the kids etc that they know so much more than them and so forth. These are the kind of people I have no qualms about pointing out how ridiculous they are.

I agree with what he says.

However, the problem that Bisch has is, of the 90% that make up the majority, 75% don't know that TNA even exists.

I made up the last number, but it is like a major percentage. A lot of the "majority fans" HAVEN'T heard of TNA. They're watching the show of the majority, which is WWE.

Wow is Bischoff serious? We don't matter? I'm willing to bet that I'm one of the few hundred or so people who actually watch TNA religiously and I'd bet that most who do are Wrestling nerds like me who wander these and other forums. Bischoff seems to think that he's running a WWE/WCW type show when in reality he's just trying to make a large ROH show more like those promotions. TNA was fun because it was different and that's why the few fans like myself actually watched it. We got to see guys who had real ring savy go at it in amazing matches. Bischoff wants to relive the 'glory days' and be a person at the top of a major company again problem is TNA has never and will never be that company. Stick to what your good at and put on fun entertaining matches for people who want an alternative to WWE style don't try to compete on their level because well that's just plain ignorant.
