Hmm, I was hoping it wasn't suicide.

It's such a shame and a terrible way to go.

Now I'm hoping that the suicide wasn't due to depression, but it most likely will be.

I feel really bad for his dad. It's terrible when a father outlives his son, but for him to be the one to find his son dead, and for it to be by suicide, I can only imagine the poor man must be in such a mess right now.

Fucking sad. Not saying it's related of course but it's really eerie that O'Haire is now the third WCW guy to kill himself after not properly transitioning to WWF after the buyout.

and if they would have kept Russo in charge of WCW they would still be alive, and would be mega stars and WWE would be out of business today. Crazy huh.

Wow, this sucks. At a loss for words right now.

Whenever I hear about any pro wrestler current or past committing suicide, it makes me wonder how many of them are possibly due to the stresses of their schedules and injuries to the head that might effect them mentally for the rest of their lives, etc.

https://music.yahoo.com/news/adam-pe...162329734.html

this story from former NWA champ Adam Pearce, shared via his Facebook page, is pretty awesome:

In 1999, I was in Atlanta, Georgia for my first tryout with WCW. What no one knew was that I went into it with a decimated left shoulder (I had partial reconstructive surgery the following year, which explains the big scar that I wear to this day). I really shouldn't have even been there with the injury.

As part of my evaluation, I was tasked by Paul Orndorff and company with wrestling opposite Sean O'Haire in an amateur-style match. As we were set to begin, I secretly said to him, "Please watch my left shoulder, it's gone."
With everyone watching, he didn't say a word. He simply looked me in the eye, and nodded a subtle "yes" in response.

We had our "match", which I put in quotes because at any point he could've yanked on my arm and exposed me, which would've showed everyone that I was hurt. If he chose to he could've easily embarrassed me physically. He didn't.
Instead, he worked with me. He took care of me, never touching my left arm, and really served to help me look better than I should have. And even though I ended up not signing WCW's contract, I have never ever forgotten what he did.

Godspeed, Sean O'Haire. Thank you again, and rest in peace.

http://www.pyroandballyhoo.com/wrestlers-unite/

I was both shocked and saddened by the death of Sean O’Haire when I found out sometime on Tuesday, but when I read about the cause of death yesterday being an apparent suicide . . . once again, it just sent me reeling.

Outside of the time that I actually worked with Sean at WCW for the nine months that I was active from October 1999 to the day the company closed shop, I really didn’t know him. The truth is that I am so focused concentrating on my existence, and sometimes just even making it to another day, that I become totally oblivious to what is going on around me and I hate myself for that. So much of the bullshit that takes up my day is just that—bullshit. None of it means a damn thing. Especially when there are colleges like Sean O’Haire, sitting in a house alone, with the darkest of thoughts running through his mind, until he fatally puts an end to them himself.

There are two sides to wrestling, those that make it . . . and, those that don’t. I’ve seen both, and I lived both. Trust me, the one side is much better than the other. One day you are sitting on top of the world living your dream, the next day it is over and nobody will even return a call. I’ve been there. A good part of me is there now. And, every day you relive what “could have been” through your mind—from the morning you wake up, until the moment you go to bed. And, unfortunately, when you start walking through the shortcomings of your career, you realize that many of the failures were just something that you didn’t have control over. If you had made it to that level because of your talent, busted your ass every day and gave your all, then what happened? I’ll tell you what happened. Wrestling happened.

One of the main goals I had in wanting to launch my own website was to attempt to lift others in the wrestling business up, who might be going through the same difficulties that I do. Unless you’ve been there, and been in their shoes—you will just never understand it. I wanted to make those feel special—-even it was just for an hour. Put them high on that pedestal that they deserved to be on because in my opinion—THEY WERE GREAT. They may have not survived what unfair challenges wrestling threw their way, but it was because of their souls—the every people that they were. They were better than the environment they were in.

I look up to guys like Diamond Dallas Page, and as I said before, if I had any say-so in the matter, I would promote him to SAINTHOOD today!!! What he has done for the lives of both Jake Roberts and Scott Hall is just angelic—it’s outside of the realm of just being a friend. We need more of that in the business. We need to reach out to those who have mentally and emotionally suffered . . . and, they need to seek us in return. Reach out to those that are there to help, and want to help. And, as far as I’m concerned—it should be our priority. Nobody should be losing their lives over feeling depressed and alone—NOBODY. God didn’t give us our lives so that we could take them. That wasn’t his intention. Sometimes, we just need help. We just need some one, that one person, to stand us back on our feet and tell us everything will be OK.

I know some people out there right now that are hurting, and I do my best to be there, and I worry about them. Every, single day I worry. But . . . I don’t even know a fraction. Didn’t have a clue about Sean O’Haire. If I did, who knows, it could be one conversation that could save a life. And that’s what I’m writing about. Whether you’re a wrestler, was in the wrestling business, or, are simply a human being living on this planet. When you hit that dark place—don’t go it alone. There is somebody that cares. There are people who have been put in your life that are there to depend on, to lean on. That’s what putting others before ourselves is all about.

Come on, man, no more Sean O’Haire’s. Reach out, please. If we don’t know how to help you—we will find somebody who can. Every one of us were born unique, and with a purpose in our lives. We just need to find what that purpose is. Once you do . . . you will be all right. But, if you’re not seeking that—then what else is there? What is the meaning of your life then? It’s all about hope . . .and, you always will have hope . . .as long as you believe and you seek it.

I just wish I would have known about Sean O’Haire. And, I dread sitting here and writing the same thing about yet another lost soul in a month.

Please—don’t let it come to that.
