Sting ...lol

So Sting finally made his way to World Wrestling Entertainment, he finally went to Wrestlemania....then promptly jobbed to HHH

Months later, after the hype and nostalgia has faded, lets face the grim reality that it was all just to say FUCK YOU to Sting.

Do you think sting should have (pick one)

1. Stuck with TNA
2. Retired and never went to the WWE
3. Never agreed to lose in his first WWE match
4. waited for GFW and made his return there

I'd much rather watch that retirement home fight where Verne Gagne broke this 90-something year old guy's hip and the guy died days after.

I don't like watching all those old guys in the ring.

I don't mind him losing. I guess he knew as well as everyone else that him winning would have been too obvious and predictable.

I just thought the match was pretty lackluster and anti-climatic.

1) No because TNA has about as much organisation as the UKIP.

2) Nope because he still had something left in the tank.

3) Agreed. Despite it being obvious, he should never have agreed to jobbing to Triple H. I can only imagine he was offered a substantial amount of money, the guarantee of a permanent cut on merchandise sales and a future role/match etc. Furthermore, Sting made it clear he wanted to do Wrestle Mania at least once in his career and had that been against an Undertaker with his streak in tact, he would have most likely been on the losing end. Yes it sucked to see him lose to Triple H particularly in that manner and imo the match should have been second to last on the card or even the main event. The whole story was built up poorly given they had since November 2014 to do this right, much earlier if you consider he began making appearances on behalf of WWE way back in August/September. Sting/Steve Borden himself has to shoulder some of the criticism as I can't imagine someone like him who for years declined their advances, to be manipulated or coerced by the likes of McMahon.

4) No.

Sting will return....I think. But whether it will have the same level of excitement, well that I'm not sure.

An ideal "retirement" match if not against the Undertaker then perhaps against Daniel Bryan at Summer Slam especially if Bryan is on the way out. At least have a legend of the past/recent past take on someone who is considered a legend in this current era (not by me but indeed it would seem by a lot of fans).

As much as I liked the mini DX vs nWo feud, Sting and Randy orton should have switched opponents for the card.

Orton had a beef with HHH along with Rollins, and Rollins beating Sting would have given him huge bragging rights.

Sting v Cena at Summer Slam for the US title would be epic.

Maybe in the weeks leading up to SS, Cena issues another challenge claiming he's beaten all comers and out comes Sting, they talk each other up about how much they've done for the business and how much they respect each other etc and how they should go at it.

Would be another loss for Sting but potential to be a better match than Triple H v Sting.

He should have signed a developmental deal and been in NXT for a year then made his debut at Mania this year. Then Vince could say he created Sting, and he might have been used right.

All jokes aside the only thing that I didn't like about Sting in WWE is that they could have used him to put over younger talent like Wyatt, Cesaro, and Rollins. I mean on his way out of TNA he put over EC3 and he is one of the most over characters in wrestling now. Granted that's not all him beating Sting but having a win over an icon never hurts.

The reason the Sting debut wasn't as over as it could've been is because he was facing HHH. Enough said.

I suspect the reason his debut wasn't as good as it could have been was because it was in some respects, last minute, rushed. Whether it had to do with how shitty things had been going up to that point or last minute arguing over legacy/nickels and dimes it sucked.

I mean, in a way it was...but at the same time, i don't think anyone is "ready" or "hyped" to see HHH face ANYONE but The Rock or Austin at this point..and to be honest, i wouldn't want to see an HHH v. Austin angle..The Rock, i could see since he's still in "in-ring shape".

If Sting were to put over someone like Ziggler, went against Rollins, or Kofi in an angle where "you young guys want everything given to you, you dont want to bust your ass for years to get respect. When you prove yourself against a person that's done it for 20+ years, you'll get my respect, you gotta ACT LIKE YOU WANT IT", basically bullying the sht out of them getting them to the point of almost snapping (chairshots from behind, attacks in the back, sitting in the crowd during their matches, showing clips of who Sting faced, saying that this business is for the strong-minded, etc, i guarantee that match would've went over because the person he was going to face (ones i mentioned) would've gotten the rub, Sting coming to the WWE to face one of those guys would've been a surprise, and the people above people actually wouldn't mind watch wrestle....yeah

I don't want to see Sting be there to put someone over. I wanted to see Sting in a EPIC match at WRESTLEFUCKINGMANIA because WM is for epic matches. A match with Ziggler, Rollins, or Kofi would not get headlines. He needed to go against Orton/Cena/HHH basically.

Really hope that wasn't the only time we'll ever see Sting in WWE. It was pretty bad overall and someone like him deserves a lot more. That said if it was his one and only appearance then I honestly wish he had just retired without coming to the WWE.

Seriously. I was shocked he didn't wear a t-shirt to hide his boobs.

While I understand the nostalgia factor, I still don't want to see people older than my father in the ring. That's just nasty.
