The difference is people expect assholish behaviour from GNR. Axl doing something stupid is what he's supposed to do.

^ Destor, i dont doubt that Metalliica has more as they have been around longer, its just GnR made such a huge impact to a certain sort of person during the short amount of time they werre around, in depends on the kind of person you are really, i am fucking drunk right now, sorry i can barely type.

We are, of course, comparing two bands well past their prime, whose fanbases now will be different from when they were actually in the spotlight.
That being said, I'm surprised MEtallica isn't blowing GNR away. |

Shows you how good GnR were then imo. |

lol shut up. It doesn't show anything. It shows that this particular message board, in the small scheme of the internet, happens to have almost as many people who think GnR is better. It doesn't mean they are that good.. it means that many people simply don't like Metallica.
You're taking two basically bottom of the barrel bands (in this day and age) and putting them up against each other. If someone votes GnR here, or Metallica here, it doesn't mean that those are their favorite bands ever. It means they like one better over the other. |

Ofcourse Requiem. You need to take your own advice. GnR were great for the short time they were around, just accept that just cause you don't think so, doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same way.

It's different when someone says they like something, and begins making stupid claims like that. What I said was stating a fact that just because people voted that way doesn't mean they think GnR is great. It means they thought GnR was better than Metallica.
I by no means think Metallica is that great of a band anymore. But I voted for them because I think they are better than GnR. |

Even Kane Knight voted for Metallica, and he hates Metallica. See what I'm getting at here?

TL, to answer your PM, I was laughing with you, not at you. Quote:
Like Stickman, you've mistaken thinking the artists are cocks, and like or dislike for the music. Last edited by Kane Knight; 05-06-2007 at 06:07 PM. |

The point of my posts was reiterated directly after saying that. You basically just repeated what I had already said right after that.

Yeah, it wouldn't send for a couple of minutes. On the other hand, I also adressed that you were wrong in your statement about my choice.

Well you definitely have an odd way of showing your liking for Metallica.

Yes. By saying, specifically, that the issue I had was the drummer and attitude.
Oh, and saying they were overrated. I mean, because saying true things instead of fellating them blindly is definitely a sign of hatred. |

Nah, I just don't see you say anything good about them. Nothing comes to mind. I'm sure you've said good things before and you can probably find multiple posts about it, but I just haven't seen any so that was why I said that.

Actually, I doubt I've said many, if any positive things about Metallica. Normally because I only mention them when someone does something like pretend they're the best ever.
I don't hate them, but they're not in my top five, or top ten, or even top twenty. I don't even know if I'd rank them in the top 50. They're enjoyable, long as I don't hear them live. I mean, I was enough of a fan I bought "Live Shit" based merely on the fact that it was Metallica. Which disappointed me, and is the foundation of my assertion that Lars sucks as a drummer. And he does. On the other hand, not saying anything positive is a far cry from hating someone. In fact, if I hated them, I probably would just say "lol metallica sucks" and get on with it. |

Also, TL's argument was settled in PMs, and he gets what I was saying now. Done with this thread.
