The only teams the Packers beat that year were the Saints, Falcons, Lions, and Seahawks.

Interesting stat the Vikings have been to 4 super bowls. They have had the lead in those 4 games for a grand total of zero minutes zero seconds

Only 4 teams remain that have never appeared in Super Bowl: Houston, Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Detroit.
14 teams remain that have never won a Super Bowl: Arizona, Atlanta, Buffalo, Detroit, Minnesota, Philadelphia, San Diego, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Seattle, Carolina, Jacksonville, and Houston. The Jets have the longest active streak of years between Super Bowl appearances and Super Bowl Championships: currently 44 years. The Chiefs are next in both categories at 43 years. |

In other news the ravens are going to put a statue of Ray Lewis up. I'd put it on the opposite side of the stadium from the Unitas statue

Also Dro, this is the first year the Ravens were finally able to overcome the eliteness of Brady, Manning, and Rapist McSteelershithead. You act like the Ravens have been whipping their asses for years and are just now getting respect for it. 1 year doth elite not make.

Ironically, both against the San Francisco 49ers. Luckily for the Ravens, Joe Montana was no longer the QB when they played the most powerful franchise West of the Rockies.

The only good thing to come out of Baltimore winning is that the New York Giants are no longer reigning champions.

It's a long offseason and this is a dead period in sports for me. There's still too many games left in the NBA season for me to start caring and I don't like baseball at all, so the SteeleStats versus Droford's Droplets of Knowledge debate is pretty intriguing for me right now.

I think I would go mental from February-August if I was American and wasn't exposed to other sports. So glad that rugby and football (soccer) gets good now otherwise the Super Bowl would be really depressing...

They can't get much worse on offense. LSU is about as incompetent on offense as it gets for an "elite team". Les Miles plays puckerbutt football until he decides to randomly make some "crazy/ballsy/stupid call" to live up to his Mad Hatter gimmick. Been like that with all of his OCs. LSU wins in spite of Les Miles and not because of him.

John Fucking Taylor ruined our shot at Superbowl championshipness. And don't play yourself JS. The Bengals are a revolutionary franchise.
You can thank us(more specifically Paul Brown and everyone associated with them before dumbass Mike took over) for such great things as: The west coast offense: That's right fucknuts Bill Walsh developed it right in Cincy, he took his ball and went to Stanford/San Fran when Paul Brown annointed Forrest Gregg HC. A bit of Poetic Justice for him to win that SB in Detroit. We also invented Helmet radios, tiger striped helmets, and the No Huddle Offense. We also pretty much invented the first round bust with Kijana Carter Dan WIlkerson, Akili Smith and Peter Warrick. You're welcome? |

Anquan Boldin says he will retire if the Ravens release him. He might want to get those retirement papers ready because money is looking like it will be tight with Flacco's deal up along with several other starters.
Such is the reason why repeating in the NFL is a very hard thing. It's just very difficult to keep a Super Bowl team together. There will always be some key guys that leave via free agency. |

Flacco, Boldin , ellerbe, reed and krueger will all be playing for the ravens on 9/5
Mckinnie and Cary Williams will go. Williams is expendable with ledarius Webb coming back from injury, jimmy smith and Corey Graham stepping up. Mckinnie is replaceable through the draft with someone more long term solution. |

Boldin makes no sense. If he likes playing for the Ravens so much that he'd rather retire than make money playing for another team, why won't he just restructure his deal to the veteran minimum or something?

Rob Ryan to the Saints is official..
Kinda pumped cause he took a high 20's ranked defense to a mid tens ranked defense in a year.. If he can get our D to the mid teens the Saints will win atleast 12 games next season.. |

According to reports, Eagles restructured Vick's contract to a one-year deal for 2013.
Don't have money details, but that is interesting. I'm not super shocked though. |

CBS Minnesota stating the Vikings are trying to find someone willing to trade for WR Percy Harvin. Vikings no longer want to deal with the constant problems he's having with the coaches.
One current rumor or possibility has the Patriots trading Wes Welker for Harvin but Minnesota would want Welker to have a new deal or at least franchise tagged before considering it. Another scenario has them trading for Harvin but managing to keep Welker as well. |
