We can confirm from two of our exclusive sources and long time friends of our brand, that Vince McMahon has indeed purchased TNA. One source noted that the sale has finalize and that their will be a press release on Friday to announce the sale and the other source stated the the sale will actually be finalized on Friday.

Not sure which is more accurate, but int does appear that WWE is or will be the new owner of TNA.


It should be noted that WWE is only interested in adding the TNA library and The Hardy's (Along with a few others.) contracts.

We will have more on this as we get the information...

Actually rooting for Vince to buy it, tbh. Having the TNA library of matches on the network would be tits, and some of the more talented members of the roster possibly getting picked up would be cool too.

TNA Cancels Flights And Matches For Next Week's Impact Tapings, Backstage Talk On Nervous Talents

It's no secret that TNA is potentially facing their end times as they go into Bound For Glory weekend with the company sale up in the air and a need for funds to cover the pay-per-view as well as next week's Impact Wrestling tapings.

A veteran TNA talent told me today that everyone is very nervous about the impending sale. Many TNA talents are used to the uncertainty but it sounds like this is a new level of concern backstage.

Furthermore, some wrestlers who were booked for the Impact tapings next week have had their flights and matches canceled. The TNA talent I spoke with wasn't even sure if he will be on the Bound For Glory card as the company is really looking to save as much money as possible.

Billy Corgan On TNA's Future Changing This Week, If Bound For Glory Will Happen, Pop TV's Reaction

TNA President Billy Corgan appeared on Busted Open this afternoon to discuss the uncertainty regarding the future of TNA. Corgan noted that he's been trying to acquire a majority share of TNA. He said that the company has had a "for sale" sign for a long time, saying it could be argued that it's had a "'for sale' sign it's entire existence." He said that he got involved when the company was having some issues and went on to take a bigger role over the past six months. He said that he wants to provide more details about why he's doing what he's doing, but he has legal obligations to not talk about things that would paint him in a more favorable light or to shed light on the complications of the issues at hand.


Corgan said that right now there are a lot of people at the table looking at the company. "It's reached a point where it's going to have a transformational moment," Corgan said. "Whatever's going to happen this week or this weekend or whatever, is going to for sure - and this is not a wrestling angle - it is definitely going to change the direction of the company forever. Does that mean the company ends, does that mean the company begins a new era? Obviously I am very much on the side and very much invested that the company would continue."


Corgan asked fans to consider all the talent that work for the company and the people who work behind the scenes whose futures are hanging in the balance. He said he's working very hard to acquire a majority share of the company and to keep the company going forward to keep everybody working. Corgan was asked what Pop TV's commitment is to a new ownership group if he were to take over the company. Corgan said that while he was working on a new album in Los Angeles, he met with the President of Pop TV and the new Vice President of Programming of Pop TV, who gave him a very strong show of support of the company going forward under him. Corgan said that Pop TV are pleased with TNA's growth and the social media reaction to the product.


As for whether Bound For Glory will happen this Sunday as scheduled, Corgan would not give a definitive yes, although he said that he was optimistic that a solution will get worked out by then. Corgan said that he had to step in at the "literally the last minute" for the last three rounds of tapings, so he's used to being in this situation. He said that ultimately it's not up to him, but he's done everything he can to create a scenario to go forward. He said that he's been the financer, and that he has no investors, so he's committed and charging forward on his own initiative.


"Having been through this the last three rounds, I still remain very optimistic that come Sunday I will be standing in the ring putting over what's about to happen," Corgan said. "I will be in Orlando come rain or shine. I can't speak for everybody else at this particular moment, but I will be in Orlando this Sunday."

On what comes to his mind when he hears the rumors: “Chaos. Shear chaos. I have been reading it like everyone else. I don’t have any inside information. I have to give my disclaimer here: I am currently involved in on-going litigation with TNA. I have to be a little bit judicious and careful about what I say. Anything that I am commenting on are things that are in the public domain, so to speak. The other day I read that somebody put a valuation on TNA of approximately $40 million. I have no idea where that number came from. Valuations when you’re selling a company or trying to get investors or an investor company. One of the hardest things to determine is valuation. Back when I was running WCW, when I was first given the responsibility to oversea WCW, it was a company that was grossing $24 million a year. Unfortunately it was losing $10 million in the process. Earlier this week someone said, “Well, the valuation of TNA is probably two times revenue.” Well, that valuation works if you’re profitable but if you’re losing like WCW was, $10 or $14 million a year on $24 million a year in revenue, I guaran-freaking-tee you that company would not have been valued at $40 million.”

On whether he sees any similarities between WWE possibly buying TNA and when WWE bought WCW: “No, they are completely different from what I can see and what I’ve read. You look at the talent roster in TNA and many of them are under non-exclusive agreements. So, there’s no real value in those contractual agreements. There’s some talented people there, don’t get me wrong. This is in no way a derisive comment with regard to the talent. It’s not like acquiring TNA is going to allow you to just walk those agreements right over to a new company because they are non-exclusive. WWE doesn’t work that way. Trust me. I really don’t see any similarities. WCW was a very powerful brand. Even at the time it was acquired by WWE. TNA doesn’t have the luxury in the marketplace that WCW did. I don’t really see any similarities to be honest.”

Latest Regarding Sale Of TNA

We noted earlier that WWE is back in the bidding war for the company, which is an indication that the company could be coming to an end. WWE reportedly just wants the video library and has no intentions on keep the company afloat. The company would use the library for WWE Network needs and future DVDs. It’s well known that Billy Corgan is a front runner in purchasing the company, however the company needs funds by Friday to keep afloat, and not months from now when a deal with Corgan would be finalized.


One of the problems with keeping the promotion going has a lot to do with previous debt. It’s being said that TNA owes millions, more then what the company would even sell for. If Corgan ends up getting the company, he plans to restructure it and even re-name the brand. Dixie is free to sell the company whoever she wants to, as she owns 70% of the company. It should be a very interesting week for TNA.

Well, most of the news in these bites was stolen from Meltzer's newsletter and radio show anyway, very little genuine journalism from anyone else.

A deal was almost agreed on Monday but fell through. Aroluxe (Harris Boys) are back in the picture, Corgan wants it but isn't keen to just fund it again knowing he's just pouring in money.

The one thing that doesn't make sense from Corgan or anyone else trying to buy this thing - what the fuck are you even getting? A company with no revenue streams, a brand name that stinks, millions of dollars of debt, and a shit domestic TV deal. The only thing of value at all is the international television and a handful of the talent, but neither of those is making enough of a difference.

I agree with Inno - though I have been enjoying IMPACT since I started watching it b/c of Matt Hardy. Most of the talent, like Bischoff mentioned, are not under exclusive contracts so WWE wouldn't even be buying contracts like they did with WCW.

Hope WWE take EC3 , Eli Drake, Hardy's, Decay, The Wolves, Bennett and Maria, Gail Kim, and the X division title. Really think that the X Division title would be a great NXT mid card title. Could keep a few others like Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett for NXT or the cruiserweight division.

Ultimately it's all a bit of a shame really.

Wrestling really suffered for a few years due to a lack of competition, and when the WWE was at it's worst credible competition was greatly needed and never appeared. There was a stage where TNA looked like they might just make it to that level, when they had recognizable names and were building some decent starts of their own, but dropped the ball.

Ever since then it has been downhill and it's only been a matter of time for a couple of years now.

The fact people will be losing their jobs and there are less opportunities for full time paying gigs for wrestlers (not that TNA has been a full time commitment for a number of years) means the industry suffers.

But TNA have no-one to blame but themselves. And Hogan.

Fuck it, let's just blame Hogan.

Wonder if Vince would go ahead and put on Bound For Glory and put it on the Network as the last ever TNA show. Could come out and make his announcement about their future and set up the guys he wants to keep for WWE. Cody Rhodes wouldn't have to go by Cody if so. Really sucks for him though if the show gets cancelled. Was looking forward to what they had planned with him and Bennett.
