Aj styles guy I dont get the hype. Has too southern of a voice to succeed in wwe climate. And jericho vs him would have been a big deal in 2006,not tonight. And why can't the vanilla midget lift one guy up for his finisher?

And another poster really nailed it "the authority is going to watch the matches tonight and decide which performances impress them the most for the next ppv we have to plug even though all the matches for mania are already determined. And then they give it to a guy who wasnt at the show performing.

All in all they have the top title on a guy for the sole purpose of giving it back to a guy who isnt over in two months. Villano number 5 May as well be champion right now.

yah he had a back injury bad enough to take no bookings in December bar I think a title match in ROH before the Dome show, even pulled out of the Tag League. Hope he's fixed up because I'd guess he's gonna be going full time for Vince

Damn good Raw from top to bottom. If they can produce this product on a weekly basis, WrestleMania is looking good.

Really hoping they don't "dumb down" Styles. Pulling off the Pele kick was a nice to see, but we all wanna see him hit the Styles Clash. Crowd was going bananas when he was about to hit that.

Side note: Kudos to The Rock for "going off script" and chatting with the Legends. Macho Man totally blew it when he had the mic., and he had the crowd in his palm of his hand the whole night.

I'm am curious to see if WWE has any rules about dressing up and let's say "cause trouble". Pretty sure 1st amendment is in play.

They have had people take off "costumes" before for being too distracting, yes. They gave the guys t-shirts as a bribe.

“A 2XL Uso shirt might not have been my first choice,” Laufer told The Washington Post in a phone call, adding that he won’t complain too much because the T-shirts were free.
What wasn’t free, though, as both Laufer and Sheridan reminded, were the tickets. They say the group paid more than $1,000 total for their seats and shelled out additional cash to purchase official WWE-sanctioned gear that some used as part of their costumes they were forced to remove.
WWE offered an apology on Tuesday to Sheridan and two other members of the group who independently wrote to the WWE. The wording of each apology was the same, according to Laufer, offering the group of 10 a total of nine free tickets to an upcoming show.
Laufer is happy WWE replied, but insists that he and his group were not seeking remuneration, but an explanation, which they still haven’t received.
“We are some of WWE’s biggest advocates and we felt like we were unceremoniously kicked to the curb with no legitimate reason given,” he said, adding that he still plans to watch WrestleMania when it airs later this month.
Sheridan also said he will remain a WWE fan despite his disappointment in what happened Monday night.
“I guess at the end of the day, all I am looking for is an explanation as to why you would boot fans who spend the time, energy and money on advocating your product. Seems like just the kind of people you would want in your corner,” Sheridan wrote in his letter, adding, “For the record, I am still in your corner, however disappointed I may be.”
The Washington Post reached out to WWE for further explanation. The company declined to comment. A WWE spokesman only confirmed the promotion “apologized to the fans for the inconvenience.” He offered them complimentary tickets to an upcoming show.

Seems really dumb they do this...no one is going to confuse fans in a costume, excited to see the wwe and passionate about it, for any of the current day superstars they have poorly pushed.

Didn't watch Raw...just reading through the thread. Doesn't sound like I missed much. Might check out Styles/Jericho on Hulu but the rest, meh.

Don't really understand the logic whatsoever behind The Authority giving Reigns, Ambrose, and Lesnar a title opportunity. Why would they give the 2 guys they hate and the biggest badass in the company a chance to win the title? What sense does that make...esp since it sounds like the whole point of the night was to impress The Authority, and Brock wasn't even there.

Oh and sorry, probably an unpopular opinion but The Rock is just a fucking dullard imo. Reading up on his segments he did what he does once or twice a year...comes out, recites the same moldy catchphrases he's had for like 17 years, and runs down up and coming talent with homophobic/sexist humor. Gathers a big reaction for humiliating the heel with no narrative base or punch and then he won't be back next week.

Imagine if in every single one of The Rock's movies you have an ancient relic like Sylvester Stallone just walk into a scene and spend 15 minutes berating Dwayne Johnson regardless of context with no narrative follow-up whatsoever.

I don't so much care when The Rock verbally jousts with people like Triple H or Cena because they're more or less portrayed to be at the "same level"...I just never really got the point of him running down midcarders. They're obviously going to just end up being made to look stupid and it'll further reinforce the casual fan's assumption that the old Attitude Era guys are way better and more important than any of the current talent.

At least the New Day are meant to be goofballs anyway. But that Rusev shit last year (well 2014 now I guess) when Rusev was undefeated and in the middle of his US Title run? Looked like a chump and Lana got slut shamed simply for being a woman. I just don't really know what they were trying to accomplish. Sure they got a pop from the audience but you made one of your top up and coming heels look like a buffoon.

Yeah, the Lana heat is dumb. I didnt have a oroblem with the Rock simply because it was entertaining. Do think Lana should be used more with the League of Nations though.

it's the casual fan's assumption (as well as every other kind of wrestling fan, promoter, writer, performer and so forth) that Rock is better and more important because he is more important and that's just how it is, not everybody can be on the same level. Rock has been doing his schtick forever, it's what people want to see him do. Do you expect him to do his "Rock act" with guys like Triple H, Cena and so on and then suddenly treat the midcarders like some kind of threat? He treats everybody the same, if somebody comes off looking worse than others, that isn't his problem, it's theirs.

That said, pointing that out in itself is daft because it's not even a problem. Working with The Rock is bulletproof, interacting with The Rock and being called silly names and taking a Rock Bottom does literally no damage to anybody. If anything, it's quite the opposite, they're interacting with one of the biggest stars in the history of the business, it entertains (nearly) everybody and is forgotten about a week later. Go and ask Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods and Rusev whether they'd rather have had the chance to be on TV with him or not, I think you know what the answer will be. Not to mention it's something to aspire to for nearly every guy in the locker room. You think most of those guys didn't watch that entire segment and were like "fuck me, I need to be in that position one day"? Not everything in pro wrestling is about making absolute perfect sense and having it all slot neatly together in an HBO drama kind of way. For the most part, it just needs to be entertaining and for the crowd to make some noise. That's what they're trying to accomplish.

When Rock does these one offs, I've read that he basically picks who to work with which is where Rusev and New Day have come into it. He also said he wanted to take the title off Punk for the WM match against Cena which is why they had the 2 matches because Rock thought it would be a great program (and he was right).

I guess. I mean yeah I can see it always makes the crowd pop and I'm sure the boys love to be involved with it, maybe I've just "outgrown" it to a degree, partly because it comes at the expense of the current roster but also just because I've seen it so many times. I was ecstatic when The Rock came back in early 2011 but since he's come back multiple times a year again for me it's just been like "okay then..."

I did go ahead and watch last night's segment and I can concede that yes, that was the best one The Rock's done in a while (imo). I didn't really think the Lana slut shaming bit was necessary but beyond that he didn't big time anybody and it worked because The New Day are meant to be goofballs anyway and you could tell Rock thought they were genuinely hilarious (which they are). Way better than the one he did with Rusev in 2014, that one just made me cringe.

You've got WWE and 99.999999999999% of fans against you there.
