Going by the episode titles and the fact the same person directed each two episode block, maybe.
The writers vary a bit so, so it might not be wall to wall two parters. |

List of episodes on Wikipedia confirms several two episode arcs.

It's been a series of mostly forgettable plotlines mixed in with some cringeworthy guitar playing and sunglasses. Last night's episode was the worst of the bunch though. An incoherent mess of an episode.

Although at least The Doctor was the one figuring thing out and not Clara for a change.
Really hope they shake it up a bit with the next companion. Bring back Bernard Cribbins and just have the show be two old fucks riding round space meeting aliens. |

I've enjoyed most of this series. Didn't really feel this episode though.

The Fisher King for the most badass legit scary thing this season everything else has been pretty eh. I didn't even bother to watch last nights episode.Clara is the first companion I just don't like (even Donna wound up winning me over)
And yes those glasses make me cringe. |

Hahaha yessss finally.
I'm sure she'll be back and get another "final episode" in the Christmas special, but its still good to be rid of her. |

So Jessica Jones got me LOVING David Tennant and I watched S2 of Dr. Who and I really like it. I should probably watch S1 since Rose is a part of it.. but uh... I'm gonna go watch season 3, S2 ep 13 and 14 were really epic... love the Cybermen.

What a load of absolute tripe. I'm watching solely out of sheer hope of a good episode here or there nowadays, and last weeks brilliant episode aside, constantly let down.
Oh and to make things worse, the Christmas episode has River Song and fucking Matt Lucas in it. Get to fuck. |

I didn't like it that much either. Overall I thought it was a decent series, but that last episode has kind of soured me.

I'm so glad Clara is gone. They've spent 3 or 4 years telling us that her and The Doctor are so close and such good friends, but I never once felt they showed it. The fact that he went through 4 billion years of torture to bring her back to life, but won't even stop by for a cup of tea with any of his other companions is just daft. There was nothing good about Clara other than having a nice face.

And now she's basically fucking immortal with her own TARDIS. They spent so long making a big deal about The Doctor getting back to Gallifrey and it was pathetically underwhelming.

Yeah not sure what all the hype was about with this being potentially "devasting" for fans and what not. Didn't feel anything here in terms of emotions.

I thought that TARDIS was headed back to Galifrey (after some pit stops) so they could return her back to her death.

The way they hinted at them "taking the long way" to me was them basically saying that Clara was just going to ride round space herself. She may as well considering they've written as more intelligent, brave, unpredictable etc erc than The Doctor. The show has practically been "Clara in space feat. Some old guy" for a while now anyway.

Yeah that's mostly what has killed this show for me lately. The Christmas special doesn't look very appealing either

Apparently Capaldi's gonna be leaving after one more series.
Feel sorry for him with some of the shite he's had to work with. He could have gone down as one of the best, since he's a great actor, but he's not had many memorable episodes and has played second fiddle to the worst companion in the revived series. I'm not sure about ratings, but in terms of storytelling, Doctor Who is on its arse. I'm sure them casting a black, gay, female, paraplegic actor as the next Doctor will sort all that though. |

I felt that the last couple of seasons, and definitely the Xmas special, have been rather underwhelming. Maybe it needs an extended break or maybe a new head writer?
Moffat always seemed to have the best episodes in the early seasons of the revived series, but once he took over, it did not seem to pay off as I was expecting. RTD always annoyed me because his season finales were always an exercise in hyperbole that never achieved what they built up to and eventually just fizzled out. I probably should re-watch from the start, as it has been a good 4 years since I last watched a Tenant episode, and I don't think I've seen any of the Ecclestone episode since they aired. |

I thought the Christmas Special looked pretty terrible ahead of time, but I ended up quite enjoying it.
