Echantress turning on everyone was not for an "inexplicable reason"..... just saying.....
The reason for the team to exist was also explained (in back to back scenes as you point out). |

Just the way they are presented guess. Dawn of Justice felt like a comic book on the big screen to me. Could be that they have used a lot of source material in the movie to and some scenes have been straight from het comics. Marvel movies are good, they just have more of a Hollywood feel than a comic book one.

I'm not arguing that I was simply referring to the reviews which are mostly positive.

The impact of this "meh" reaction will be felt in the box office this weekend I wager.

Of course this is exactly what I said after BvS to the defiance by the same people on this forum. We'll know come monday if this is EXACTLY the same as BvS.

The vocal minority are the people saying its good, evidence of that will show show in just a few days. Repeated views and word of mouth is what drives the blockbuster juggernauts to make the money they make. Opening wekeend is profits based off marketing and brand names. Going forward the film has to sell itself. BvS couldnt do that, this likely wont either. |

Also the ending. Both end to the final climatic sequence or the literal last frames were the most boring cliche piles of shit i've seen in a super hero flick since The Phantom.

About the soundtrack for the movie, I wonder if that was even the original soundtrack. Sometimes the songs felt kind of "out of place", and I wonder if it was a reaction like "Gee, everyone really loves our trailers using these rock songs, let's put these songs in the movie as well"

Had the biggest Tuesday showing of August all time with $14.27 million up 9% from Monday. Beat Dawn of Justice, Avengers Civil War, and Age of Apocalypse for Tuesday showings.

Or they just don't want to pay $$$$$$ for a movie when they can pay $$ for purely economic reasons. The Advocate goes both directions. This thread is largely full of obsessive, overly-self-important armchair critics who couldn't put together something better, myself included. It was what it was, which was entertaining. Comparing any written media to the movie counterpart is dumb because you cannot possibly cram all the cool shit that makes the "book vs movie" argument in the book favor. |

Getting people to shell out 6 dollar per person is still something most films can't do.

Because next Monday has a shit ton to do with whether people choose to be economically savvy nor not A shit movie is a shit movie, but all I have read is how everything is actually explained, it is just "too thin" - which is entirely subjective. Thin is usually what these types of movie will be, as they are meant to be "fun" and "entertaining" not make you think about "life" like The Matrix. When trying to make the most $$$$$$$ overall, appeal to the masses and not the mouth breathing neck beards who will bitch about stuff that the majority don't even care about and/or won't notice. Kinda like WWE and Cena, Reigns, etc. The "Cena sucks" crowd is minority, hence why WWE doesn't give a shit after 10+ years about said crowd. Cena plays it well by goading them and giving them attention because it keeps people "hating" him. |

My wife and I took our son to see the new Ice Age movie in 3D. Tickets were $16 a piece, but they also reserved our seats when we bought the tickets @ the box office, had leather recliners and moveable, folding trays to put your food on. When the experience is THAT comfortable and enjoyable, I'm happy to pay the money. |

Sounds like you went to a Movie Tavern like theater, we have one in Lexington and
I believe I seen Guardian's of the Galaxy at it. Is very cool to get food delivered to you before the movie starts but is definitely more expensive than a regular theater. |

Just got back. Some fun parts but overall, I can understand why critics are giving it the business. I said earlier that they hired a company that cuts trailers to edit the movie. That is very apparent, as this is some of the worst editing in a movie I've ever seen.
They tried to flesh out some of the other charactwrs besides Deadshot and Harley, butit just felt rushed. And Croc may well as not even been there. I liked the villain, but I'm a sucker for ancient near omnipotent types. The problem with those types is that it's difficult to get most people to care about a villain they can't in any way identify with, or understand, and that seems to be the case here. I honestly don't know what to think of Leto's Joker. Wasn't bad. Wasn't particularly memorable either. |

Here's something that made no sense. Diablo's wife marries a guy with a skull tattooed on his face, and seems stunned to find out he's a gangster with guns and money obtained by, I'd assume, committing crimes.

That movie was awesome. Sure, if you want to grt technical there were some weird editing that went on but whatever. This is 100 times better than BvS. Can't wait for the next one. Boomerang man was stupid though.

I agree. I also really liked Will Smith being Will Smith. I forgot how my much I like Will Smith.
However I didn't like The Joker. I'm glad he had a lot of his scenes cut. Harley was good though. |

Suicide Squad looks to have dropped 67% this weekend, almost tieing BvS 69% record shattering drop. Course 2nd all time greatest week 2 drop is worth mentioning. Still could possibly pass BvS but today would have to topple projections based off friday and saturday.
Regardless history has repeated itself. |

More like post Wonder Woman. They were already filming WW when BvS released. If there is to be a change, won't be until after that film. At least that's what I'm thinking

After 3 films, I'm done with hope. I'll likely still go see them Just to see them. But I've lost faith in Warner and D.C. actually knowing what they're doing.

I'm not even talking about the doctor side. Her decrepit, witch form. Not the glowing version, the ghostly form. There was something 'dirty hot' about that form. I dunno.
I'd let her touch me in that meeting room. Funny scene, btw. |
