No mate I judge divas on wrestling ability you are missing the point they are afterall making a living wrestling so should be at the very least consistent in the ring and entertaining.

She won't last like many of the other talentless divas from years gone by i've seen them come and go, not many left which goes to prove they don't have the longevity or talent that they used to have because WWE is looking for cover girls and not good looking woman wrestlers. Which they should be looking for even Torrie Wilson put on some pretty good matches, Lita put on good matches, Trish and Mickie put on good matches.

Again I just think you are judging Maryse on what you believe a diva should be and I respect that but don't pass me off as a "smark" just because I don't share the same opinion as you do.

Also this good looking thing is nonsense here are some of the female wrestlers or divas I respected as a talent (both in the ring and out of the ring).

Lita
Torrie
Trish Stratus
Mickie James
Christy Hemme
Gail Kim
Victoria

The list goes on now you probably wouldn't class them as beautiful as Maryse that's your opinion but I would. Again I look for different qualities but in wrestling terms Maryse couldn't tie the boots of any of those divas above.

Yes I did believe it or not. I like Eve her character is developing she's above average in the ring (I rate her better than Maryse or Mccool personally) and I think she's beautiful too so you could add her to the list I think she has a bright future. That's mainly due to the fact that she can wrestle and she has far less experience in the ring than Maryse or Mccool which bodes well for her.

Yes, a solid look is important but that's consistent through all of wrestling, not just female wrestling. If looks didn't count and pure wrestling ability was the key to success, then Taka Michinoku would probably be known as the greatest professional wrestler of all time and Chris Masters would have never gotten a job. The key is to find a solid combination of wrestling ability, looks, charisma, and marketability. Maryse definitely fits the archtype for what the WWE is looking for, this why she has a job. Would you like the WWE to hire more hideously ugly people to balance it out?

She can also wrestle quite well and her previous reigns as champion were pretty wonderful, in my opinion. I don't really know what you want or what you're trying to say. You go into some insane rant about how Maryse isn't a real woman because she's pretty and you say that she isn't WWE material. This is ridiculous.

I guess only time will prove me right but I am dumb struck by how you can't see the fact that Maryse doesn't have any wrestling talent to speak of.

I agree that divas like Maryse are what WWE is looking for and it's slowly evolved from great looking women who can wrestle well (Sable and Sunny for examples) to cover girls like (Ashley Massaro and Maryse) wrestling ability doesn't seem to be high up on the list of qualities the WWE looks for these days.

I just find that pretty sad, why put on 'wrestling matches' with divas if they can't wrestle to the standard needed? How many times have you seen a crowd on it's feet during a divas match? Does that not mean they aren't finding the divas matches entertaining? Last time I checked this was called 'sports entertainment' right.

The only time I can remember fans being on the edge of their seats and being into a match off the top of my head was Lita vs Trish. Now Lita is an example of a great looking women with wrestling ability, of course she had the whole grunge look going on but at times she came across as being sexy but obviously not cover girl material. The qualities that the WWE looks for certainly has changed over the years that's for sure and I personally don't think it's for the better but what do I know? I have only been watching wrestling for over 20 years afterall.

See the problem I see with some of you guys is you don't have an opinion of your own. If you did then you would be honest and tell me Maryse isn't very talented in the ring, she isn't how anyone can argue that she's talented well they must have really brought down the bar that's all I have to say about that.

I haven't seen one good match from Maryse and she's been in the WWE for what a good 3 years?

Well that's enough talking about Maryse for one life time. I hope you guys dont hang yourselves when the inevitable happens and Maryse get's future endeavoured so she can live her dream in Hollywood.

Do you remember when a diva used to dream of being in WWE that was THE dream now they are more focused on making it in Hollywood than they are being in the WWE.

Again another sad statement of how times are changing.

I won't be commenting anymore I have lost my passion for this thread now but appreciate all the opinions you guys have and I do respect them but I question the accuracy of some of the comments if you are long time wrestling fans.


P.S Out of the ring talent to me at least means when not performing in the ring so I judge them on interview skills, what special talents they have, how they come across in backstage segments, how they handle and conduct themselves on tour, entrances and the like.

So, when you give your opinion on Maryse, why you dislike her and what you look for in a Diva it's "constructive". When others do it they are "telling themselves lies"?

As for the Future Endeavoured part, that's a great call. Not because Maryse is so awful she'll get canned but because that's generally the way it goes with the Divas. For the most part they are disposable.

Look back at WrestleMania 24 and the Diva match there. 2 of the girls in the match are gone (Ashley and Maria) and I'd wager half of the "lumber-jills" were given the boot too over the last 3 years.

Divas seem to have a short shelf life for the most part so your "call" wouldn't be that impressive if it were to come to fruition.


As for the topic at hand. Maryse is incredibly hot IN MY OPINION. Having said that, if I want my slice of female flesh for the day/week I'll go watch some porn. I'm not 14 anymore therefore I don't get all giddy for the Divas being on screen no matter how hot they are.

As for in-ring, I can take it or leave it. Female wrestling doesn't appeal to me all that much. They seem awkward and a lot of the moves are telegraphed. But if the girls can do a decent job I'll watch and give them credit where it's due.

To cite Sable and Sunny (who I don't recall even wrestling on a regular basis) as examples of Divas that can "wrestle well" kinda contradicts what you're saying about the subject of women wrestling. You also do that clever thing of comparing the "best" to the "worst". I mean, man, the standard of male physiques in wrestling has improved, we've gone from Bastion Booger to John Morrison . You don't prove anything with that transparent technique.

Yup Jackie Gayda was the first that came to my mind too.

Hell I'd even put Sable up there she was legit awful in the ring, Luna and Jacqueline carried her through every match she wrestled against them.

1)I may be wrong but how could you classify Sunny as a wrestler? Even she will say shes not a wrestler and that she was a manager/valet

2) As for people not being on there feets for womens wrestling.It has less to do with the women who are wrestling and more to do with WWE making it a joke

Maryse has really grown on me over the years. I would be legit pissed off if the WWE just cut her because they wanted to bring in new girls. She's one of the most unique Divas they have had, and plays her sexily awesome character so well.

Also, Maryse has not really done too much in the ring since the rise of LayCool, and has moved into the corner of Ted DiBiase and the host role on NXT. How can you judge her in the ring, really? Plus, she's a better wrestler than half the girls mentioned here. Torrie Wilson? Really? The Bella Twins are better workers than Torrie Wilson.

Maryse is a piece of airbrushed plastic. She is by no means the worst Diva ever but she may well be the most overrated. Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler, and Michelle McCool are each better looking and don't look like they were pressed out in Hasbro's factory.
