I don't want to know spoilers per se, but how do you unlock characters?

I figured when they come out as Mystery Opponents you would have to win as them or defeat them to unlock them, so far I beat Goldust with Cena, beat Taker as Austin and lost to someone as Smash but none of them unlocked.

So, I said this about last year about it being realistic with Cena, and they did it again this year. 15 minute iron man match, 10 minutes of me beating him down, then the last 5 minutes was all him.

Wow...just wow. As much as I want it for my collection, I think I might wait a bit. I can understand some play mechanics bugs, but these smaller 'attention to detail' things shoulda been ironed out before release. As much as they talked it up, it should have been much better.

See things like that, while stupid, aren't game breaking and so they just make me laugh my ass off. Same thing with the random team coming out to celebrate title wins. It doesn't make any sense, but it doesn't have any effect on storylines so I just move on.

Managed to get online long enough to download some of the highly rated CAWs on the front page. Angle, Jericho, RVD, Sting, and Hunico. I didn't preview any of them because I got kicked out the one time I tried, I just downloaded them and looked after. I'm not too impressed with the Sting, but the others are very good. Jericho's face is dead on, and he has his 2007 return attire.

The game immediately booked Hunico in a match against Justin Gabriel. After winning, Hunico went to Pillmanize Gabriel when RVD (who I had set as a legend) returned to rescue him. Decided to throw them in a tag team to bolster the division. I've now got enough teams to have 2 sets of tag belts...pretty annoying that even with two sets of belts, they're technically not brand specific and teams can continue to wrestle on both shows/compete for the other show's tag belts. It's also completely stupid that you have to have all THREE sets of tag belts on active Raw/SD guys even if one or two of those belts are meant to be inactive.

Decided to interfere in a match (Orton v Sheamus), came to ringside, jumped in, hit finisher on Orton, Sheamus covered, took the option to wake the ref, little cutscene............and Orton is now pinning Sheamus.

So...if I want one specific guy to win, I need to attack him, have his opponent pin him, then wake the ref. Makes sense.

What are the chances of thos niggles being resolves?

I like it more now I'm used to the controls, spending ages on my CAW's moveset helped me to remember all the buttons.

I also had the phantom WHC turn up, this time Kelly Kelly celebrating with it in a cutscene before Natalya comes out to smash her up.

Also had Yoshi Tatsu critically injured on Superstars, only to appear as a mystery opponent against the Undertaker on the following Smackdown main event, lol.

I haven't gotten deep into Universe yet, but Brock Lesnar did return on Superstars by attacking Yoshi Tatsu. The only bugs/complaint I have ran into is the backstage brawl AI. I do know that I hope I never have another 4-on-1 thing. Fucking annoying...

Question about Universe. Let's say I were to make all the females inactive, including the champions. Are there any Universe cut scenes/scenerios that would actually use females, assuming they're not in a stable or a manager? Or would I be rid of the division entirely?

Also, what does happen when you make a current champion (who holds a brand-aligned title) inactive? Is that not possible?

The only bug I have noticed is when there is a mystery opponent and you choose to play as them to 'unlock' them (for example ??? vs Undertaker on Smackdown). ??? ended up being Stone Cold so I choose to compete as Austin. I beat Undertaker easily however Austin is not unlocked. Not 100% sure if this is a bug that he wasn't unlocked or just that's not how he is unlocked.

Other than that I have not experienced any weird cut scenes or other glitches that people have mentioned.

I threw them all into WCW as soon as I got the game and I have not had a single divas match booked. The only diva related segment I had was Beth randomly coming out after Barrett beat Orton, and walking out arm-in-arm with Wade.
