I'm not sure if this is truly thread-worthy, and I know I'm one of the newest guys on here, but I just wanted to truly exhort all of you that if from now to October 31, 2012 you consider buying any WWE merchandise, please consider buying some WWE/John Cena/Susan G. Komen gear. Even if you haven't been planning on doing so, but are able to, please do.

Prices range from $24.99 (men's t-shirt), to $19.99 (the baseball cap), to just $11.99 (the sweatbands).

Maybe some of you look at all this and go like "What, me wear pink?", or look at the sweatbands and say "Who the hell's gonna wear that?". Thing is, you don't have to wear any of this. You can buy the sweatbands and give 'em to your nephews or cousins or keep 'em as Collector's Items, or just buy the cap or t-shirt, whatever.

Thing is, we all know Cancer is out of control, you never know if someone you know will get it (or you yourself), and Breast Cancer affects so many women around the world when they least expect it. It can affect your wife, your mother, your sister, or any other family member and/or friend. Cancer treatment is very costly and the last thing we want is for women who get Breast Cancer to get sick and die just because they don't have the means to afford it.

Most of us have lost family members to due to Cancer, or we know someone who's battled Cancer (or is battling it as we speak). Do it for them. Forget about whether you like John Cena or not, this goes way beyond that.

So please, from the bottom of my heart I tell you, again. If in the next month and a half you are considering getting some WWE merchandise, consider doing it for this cause, which is a great cause. The proceeds will go to help women who are fighting battles that we may never know what they're like.

Let's help if we can.

I respect what you're trying to do, Keith, so I'm donating directly to National Breast Cancer Foundation, which spends next to nothing on advertising. While I respect SGKF's marketing efforts and co-branding with various companies such as Yoplait and WWE, that also means a greater portion of donated funds go towards ads.

Donating directly minimizes the cut that other companies get, and this way, I won't have a pink t-shirt collecting dust in my dresser drawer. Some guys can rock the pink... I am unfortunately not one of them.

Thanks for raising awareness, Keith.

Kane Knight and Fragile X are just being trolling asshats so don't let them bother you Keith. My father has been in and out of the hospital for over a year now with lung cancer so I understand what this disease can do, but like turd said there are better ways to combat cancer.

Don't get me wrong I respect the shit out of Cena for this, but even for something like this I won't buy his merchandise. Just can't see myself wasting what little money I make on something I'd never wear. Oh and it's got nothing to do with the pink! Real men wear fucking pink and look fucking sexy doing so!

Excellent thread. I will not be buying any of this gear, but I have donated plenty of times to this cause. Have lost family members and a friend to cancer.

Good thread. Even if just one person takes a look at this thread and decides to help out it has been worth it. I won't be buying a shirt personally, because I don't really like it (and I love pink!), however I'll donate the price of the shirt to the charity.

Gonna ask if a mod can delete the negative comments at the start of the thread as well please. Pretty ridiculously stupid.

I highly approve of doing serious research on any charity organization before donating to be sure that their methods and beliefs most closely match what you wand your money to be going towards. I'm personally involved with an anti-cancer fundraising project, so what donation funds and efforts I can afford are all pretty well tied up, but anyone who spreads awareness of such organizations is doing good work.

The pink ropes are a little much though.

I don't really get all of the attention breast cancer gets when there are so many other cancers that also need research/money.

Why is only Cena-Pink gear getting sold? That's bullshit. When an sports league has Pink gear they don't signal out one team to rally the cause. They should have one for almost every wrestler in the company.

Probably because it is the second highest cause of cancer death in the Western world after lung cancer (the leading cause of cancer mortality in women globally). Lung cancer is primarily caused by smoking, anti-smoking campaigns have their root in lung cancer reduction. Breast cancer does not have such a clear lifestyle component to target to reduce incidence, but it can be self-checked and early diagnosis improves survival, therefore awareness is an important strategy for improving survival rates.

That said, if you feel some other form of cancer requires more research/money you are perfectly free to donate to those or start your own charity.
