Let's talk about how kickass Brain Boucher is......

I was at his first game too.



SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Brian Boucher made NHL history tonight, shattering two of the NHL's 55-year-old modern era shutout records.

Boucher set the longest shutout streak record in modern era history (introduction of the center red line in 1943-44) by going 325:45 without giving up a goal. The record was held by Montreal Canadiens goaltender Bill Durnan, who set the record in 1949 (309:21).

In addition, with the his 2-0 shutout of the Minnesota Wild tonight at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, Boucher also set a new modern era NHL record by recording his fifth consecutive NHL shutout. He becomes the only player in NHL history (modern era) to post five consecutive shutouts, blanking the Los Angeles Kings (4-0), Dallas Stars (6-0), Carolina Hurricanes (3-0), Washington Capitals (3-0) and the Minnesota Wild (2-0). Alex Connell (Ottawa) who posted six consecutive shutouts in 1927-28 and went 461:29 without allowing a goal holds the all-time records.

Boucher improved his record to 6-0-3 in his last nine starts and has posted an incredible 1.18 GAA and a .961 save percentage. Boucher has posted a 6-2-4 record this season with a 1.63 GAA and a .943 save percentage.

The Coyotes will return home to Phoenix this evening and practice tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Desert Schools Coyotes Center in Peoria. The Coyotes players will be available to the media at 3:00 p.m. in the Coyotes locker room at Glendale Arena. Goaltender Brian Boucher will be available at 3:30 p.m. in the Coyotes interview room next to the Coyotes locker room in Glendale Arena.

The only reason I'm not happy about this is the fact my fantasy team is playing against him.
Otherwise yeah, great stuff. Last year when the Flyers had him and let Cech go, then Boucher I was really confused. I figured he and Esche would have made a great combo.
Looks lik Burke and Boucher make a good combo. Well I see Burke being moved on come trade deadline IF there's any takers.

I was at the Stars/Avs game today and they had some kind of thing about Boucher playing in the bathroom. I must admit that was the most interesting thing I've heard in a bathroom in a long time.

Yippe I decided not to dress Brodeur against the Leafs tonight. I felt the Leafs would get a couple goals or more tonight against the Devils, but instead Brodeur shuts them out. If Boucher gets another shut out I'll flip.
