The two that I immediately thought of were the Colorado Avalanch and the Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins with the Montreal Canadians.

Bruins are rivals with the Canadians? haha wtf
Hockey gets NO love here at all, pretty ****ed up. Boston College is like top 3 in the nation in hockey or some shit and I didnt even know til a few days ago. Still haven't really heard anything about it I just noticed an ad for a hockey game and it had their ranking next to their name. Nobody talks about it at all. |

Best Rivalry ever is New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox
I also think a Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators rivalry is brewing |

Real Madrid - Barcelona. Goes beyond sport, and into politics and sovereignty.
Back in the days of Franco, the Spanish government tried to fix the league so that Madrid, the capital city's team would win, and stacked the odds against Barcelona because they represented Catalonian nationalism. Barcelona fans think it's still happening, and they'd have a point. Real Madrid are given a huge helping hand by the banks and the Madrid council. Celtic and Rangers is by far the biggest rivalry in Britain. That Argentinian derby is pretty hot too, I think it's River Plate and Boca Juniors. Fans are always getting killed at the matches and the players kick the shit out of each other. |

It's always advertised on ESPN and ESPN2.
When SI was offering those special videos on collegiate rivals, it was Michigan/Ohio State, Bama/Auburn, and Army/Navy. So I have no idea where that came from. |
