Points to be made apparent: Hulk Hogan
I'm not sure what it is, maybe being around a bunch of Hogan fanboys watching the ppv, but I've had it with the approach of people who decide that Hogan is some kind of God and that he IS wrestling. As the title states, these are points to be made apprent.

1. The gay Hogan faanboyism needs to stop. I recognize what Hogan has done for the business, but that was about 20 years ago, move on. The people that complain about canadians not moving on after Montreal are the same ones that won't get off Hogan's dick, even in his 50's.

2. Hogan changed what wrestling was, yes. he greatly helped the business. But a 50 something Hogan going over Randy Orton doesn't help the business in an era when there are few credible stars left to begin with. Who has the WWE built up in the past 2 or 3 years? Cena? who can't can over with some crowds. You could possibly argue Batista, but the point is I don't see a whole line up ppeople that have been built up. Older talent needs to put over younger talent, its the nature of the business. Which brings me to 3...

3. Hogan does not put over younger talent. Go ahead and cite Lesnar and the Rock. The Rock didn't need it and Hogan going over Lesnar would have killed his push completely. That's one guy in the 4 or so years he's been back. My argument is mainly the same as #2.

4. The guy is an asshole. Everyone who worships this guy needs to calm down, he's a dick and everyone knows it. Not to say he doesn't deserve the credit he gets, but the guy has admitted to sabotaging other wrestlers and is well known for backstage politics. I guess the best comparision I could draw is Barry Bonds. We know the guy has talent, and yeah he probably took steroids. That fact notwithstanding, he's a talented guy who people openly acknowlegde as an asshole. Hogan should be in that same light.

5. Hogan is a nostalgia act for all intents and purposes. The guy comes in and wrestles 3 or 4 times a year, goes over established talent and leaves. He doesn't work a full schedule and doesn't want to. If Hogan worked a full schedule, I tend to think that those of us that are sick of him would become even moreso. And those of us who 'love' Hogan would probably to a degree get sick of him as well. The only thing that comforts me right now is that we probably wont see Hogan now until maina time where he can go over some other already established star. The point is, its not like the guy works any kind of full schedule yet he comes in and goes over guys that are here the full year. Thanks vince, that creative control clause looks real good right now.

6. I do not want to hear any fanboys complain about how Cena can't wrestle. As if Hogan is that much better. Don't say Hogan can wrestle but doesn't, that makes it even worse. I can only watch the same damn match and hogan kicking out of finishers and hulking up, then the boot and the leg drop so many times.

He makes great points, and I would love to agree with him, but everytime I see Hogan, the little kid in me who grew up watching him comes out, and I just want him to run wild all over whoever he is facing, regardless of how much sense it makes for the other guy to go over.

Also, 99% of the people,including me, who were at Toronto for wrestlemania X8, are hogan fans for life now.

Seriously, he could eat a kitten on live TV and we'd still chant his name.

Hulk Hogan put over the Rock, the Undertaker, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar back in 2002. Not too mention he really helped Edge gain a lot of momentum with the tag team they had together.

Then in 2003 he just wrestled The Rock again, Vince McMahon and Rowdy Piper. Plus, he helped get the one legged Zach Gowen over.

In 2005 he helped give Muhammad Hassan much more heat than he would have normally gained, and gave the fans a dream match with Shawn Michaels.

Honestly, even if Hulk Hogan layed down for Randy Orton it wouldn't matter worth a fuck. Randy Orton would still not be a HUGE draw, and wrestling would still suck because the creative side of the business is fucked up.

Moral of the story: Hogan put enough people over in 2002, during a time when the WWE was in serious need for new stars and the WWE chose the wrong fucking people for Hogan to job too.

Hulk Hogan put over the Rock, the Undertaker, Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar back in 2002. Not too mention he really helped Edge gain a lot of momentum with the tag team they had together.

Then in 2003 he just wrestled The Rock again, Vince McMahon and Rowdy Piper. Plus, he helped get the one legged Zach Gowen over.

In 2005 he helped give Muhammad Hassan much more heat than he would have normally gained, and gave the fans a dream match with Shawn Michaels.

Honestly, even if Hulk Hogan layed down for Randy Orton it wouldn't matter worth a fuck. Randy Orton would still not be a HUGE draw, and wrestling would still suck because the creative side of the business is fucked up.

He helped Edge, that's for sure. But only by tagging, not by jobbing to him. Zach Gowen? Maybe, but c'mon. He knew Zach wasn't a threat. And again, this was via friendship, not a win.

Hogan giving Hassan more heat? Erm, no. He already had that heat. Hogan was a nice frosting, but it didn't add too much. Plus, it happened all of, what, three weeks?

His match was classic with Shawn because of Shawn. Not because of him.

Actually, I don't care that Orton jobbed. I'm not a fanboy. But my point is that Hogan needs to stay off my TV.

Tagging with a guy is actually is a huge help. He gave him the rub dude. Popular by association. But everything else I agree with.

Hogan really did shit for Edge or Zach Gowen. How do I know? Because no one remembers that shit! Edge was ranting about Hulk Hogan in his hotel suite the other weak (before Vengeance, I think) and didn't even mention it. Their run as World Tag Team Champions has been forgotten, brother.

And putting over The Rock, The Undertaker and Kurt Angle makes no sense. Those guys were already over, and even when it happened at the time, they didn't seem like huge victories to me. They almost seemed predictable and logical. Angle forcing Hogan to submit? The lesser educated smark in me at the time didn't care. The mark didn't think anything of Hogan, and the match seemed like it should have gone that way any day of the week. Oh, and they neglected to mention that Angle forced Hogan to submit when they had their match on RAW last year. The Rock and The Undertaker definately didn't need the rub from Hogan. That's just stupid.

So in the year 2002, assuming that Hogan did "put over" Angle, Rock, Taker, Lesnar and Edge, and assuming they were actually helped by this, that's still only five people Hogan benefitted in a year in the company. Mick Foley does better than that in a promo.

I would not care if Hogan never appears on my screen again. I will not watch an episode of WWE programming where he is involved.

I respect him for he did for the business, but in all honesty I've NEVER been a fan of Hogan. Even back in the day (when I was young and thought it was real), I was into people like Bret Hart, Tatanka, Diesel etc... But Hogan never appealed to me.

Anyhow, now he's a total dickhead who cares more about his own public image than the sake of the WWE, so fuck him.
