Is playoff hockey over-rated?
I'm a huge hockey fan, live, eat breathe it. I find myself every year excited for the playoffs, and every year I get kinda bored with it. It got me thinking. Is playoff hockey over-rated?

It's too much "playing not to lose" instead of playing to win. And I hate the face washing shit after whistles. Just fucking fight. Every player during the regualr season who was too scared to pull that shit all of a sudden becomes a tough guy because they know nobody will fight.

And overtimes for the most part are boring as fuck. Team skates the puck to the blueline and dumps it in. Other team gets the puck, breaks out gets to the other teams blueline and dumps it in.

I know this is gonna upset hockey snobs, but I really think they should do 4 on 4 in overtime even in the playoffs.

Playoff hockey is only overrated when my Red Wings are not involved. And even if they are, it's still overrated, unless they happen to win the Stanley Cup, which would make me ecstatic.

In terms of both NHL and NBA playoffs, I think they are just entirely too long. The excitement of the opening round is gone by the finals unless your team is in it. NBA is much worse than hockey though.

No. Playoff hockey is fun to watch regardless if the Penguins are in the game or not. Sure I might skip games if they aren't playing, but I still watch most of the games every round, and haven't missed a Stanley Cup finals game since 1995. Plus the crowds are amazing in the playoffs, a lot more energetic about every thing compared to the regular season. Makes it great watching.

The refs and league officials just need to start lightening up and people need to stop clamoring for suspensions and shit every time somebody or some game gets really rough and cheap. It's the fucking playoffs, and it's fucking Hockey.
