My thoughts,

Prior to them breaking up, I would have said Morrison. However, given what The Miz has done in the past year, I think he is in the better position for winning a World Title. The Miz is becoming a much better wrestler, not better than Morrison, but he can hold his own in the ring. He also has better mic skills than Morrison, which is very important in WWE. He can make everyone in the arena hate him by just walking out to the ring. The Miz, in my opinion, is almost the perfect heel right now. If you take Randy Orton off of Raw, The Miz would be the top heel. He is involved in 3 different story lines, Daniel Bryan, MVP (US Title), and Big Show (Tag Team Titles). Morrison is currently doing nothing on Smackdown. I think The Miz will win a World Title first, and I also want The Miz to win the belt before Morrison.

It seems to me that heels usually claim their first World Championship far sooner than most faces. And frankly, though I think he's great in the ring, I think Morrison's character could still use quite a bit more development.

Maybe Morrison would benefit from becoming heel. He's not so good on the mic...sounds lame sometimes. Becoming heel would maybe give him more to work with.

I'd say The Miz right now, but if Morrison wins Money In The Bank either at Mania or at the Money In The Bank PPV I'd say him.

I loved Morrison after the draft. He was having amazing matches on Smackdown and doing his thing. But here lately? The Miz is just taking names and showing people that he can do this. He really IS awesome

The Miz has got charisma and all you need to be a WWE superstar but I don't see him becoming a World Heavyweight Champion or a WWE Champion.

John Morrison has got sidelined after the Miz's rise to fame. Morrison had won the ECW Championship when it was still being referred as a World title. I definitely see Morrison winning both the World Heavyweight title and the WWE title in the near future when the time is right. Right now seems awkward.

I like them both but strangely I'm speaking against my actual vote, Miz before Morrison only because he is a heel.

where has Morrison been on Smackdown as of late?

Unfortunately Morrison's character works better as a heel where his in ring performance works better as a face. But he was in the elimonation chamber and Miz wasn't, not a very good reason but that's the one I chose.

Honestly, I see Miz and Morrison being top level stars in the WWE. I choose Morrison to win first because he has a longer resume than Miz. Honestly, Nitro/Morrison has been with the E for some time now, and he never dissappoints in the ring. Ironically, he's been heel for most of his career and he is only now learning how to be a face. He was always heel as Nitro, and mostly heel as a oversexed rockstar. I do miss the Palace of Wisdom, and all of the silly things he'd say on the dirt sheet.

To Miz's credit, he has evolved since those sophomoric skits, where Morrison has only had a chance to perfect his in ring ability. I love them both, but I love the abs more!

I say Morrison will win the WHC or WWE title before The Miz. Don't get me wrong Miz has great charisma and in ring skills but he is just now holding his first major singles title. Morrison is a former ECW and IC champ so the only thing next for him is the WWE or World title

I'm pulling for Morrison because of the two hes always stood out to me,on the flipside Miz has made incredible progress on the Mic and in the ring.

Morrison is good on the mic and awesome in the ring. IMO his character just needs a bit more tweaking The Miz has grown on me but I'm still team Morrison.

I just feel right now Morrison has taken a backseat when it comes to developing. He is a great wrestler, but as they pointed out on NXT, charisma is the biggest thing a WWE superstar needs to take it to the next level, and I don't know if Morrison has that ability on the mic to take it to the next level, at least as a face. He was good when he first changed his name to Morrison, but I feel he has regressed. Where The Miz has only progressed and is becoming a star and IMO the star we thought Morrison was going to become after the breakup.

While The Miz is one of my favorites right now, Morrison has shown that he can work as either a heel or a face, mostly due to his in-ring skills. Morrison can be brash and cocky to the point where you want to hate him, but he's so fun to watch that it can be forgiven when he wrestles. The Miz is a GREAT heel, but I just can't picture a smooth transition from heel to face for The Miz. Even if The Miz ever does turn face (which I don't feel he even should), I'm not so sure his in-ring work is to the point right now where people would stay behind him.

Basically, I think Morrison's much more diverse, which helps in establishing a lengthy and successful career in the WWE. I don't want to say that The Miz will NEVER get there, but Morrison is the much more likely candidate at this juncture.

See, I don't feel that he himself as regressed. He's had some really good matches with Evan Bourne, Rey Mysterio, and Dolph Ziggler since he started his face turn. Even his recent work with Drew McIntyre has been good. What's hurting Morrison is basically the lack of anything of note to do. Any feelings of regression are probably based on him turning face, which makes almost anyone seem automatically more boring for me.

He just sort of hovers around the midcard with no real direction. He gets wins when he needs to just to keep him somewhat credible, but he was basically used as a stepping stone in his last feud. His Intercontinental title run was good, but that's nothing he hasn't done before. You can tell that the company wants to make him big, but the SmackDOWN! landscape just isn't one for him to be on top of right now.

The Miz, on the other hand, is in a perfect position. When he first arrived on Raw, it was pretty apparent that nobody had any clue what to do with him. It was like 'OK, that tag team is over and Morrison's gonna get big on the blue brand...what do we do with this other guy?'. They kept dipping a toe into the water with him in small doses...cutting promos against Cena...teasing him winning a battle royal...and it seemed that they had all but given up when he was booted from Raw and had to win his way back on as The Calgary Kid.

The thing is, though...those promos were getting OVER. I don't think anybody expected it, but it was happening, and for my money, it all began when the crowd started responding to "I'M THE MIZ....AND I'M AWESOME"(or AWFUL as they may say, he should thank Ben Roethlisberger for that). The Miz got over without any real help, so I think that's when the writers decided....well OK, how far can we really take this? Now, he's a duel champion. The ball is completely in The Miz's court now, when it all seemes that Morrison's future is already set.

I don't even remember why I'm typing anymore and I definitely didn't expect it to be this long. Carry on.

I agree with The Gold Standards comments, but I gotta go with my gut feeling that says John Morrison.

Although, seeing as how much WWE lately likes building up solid mid-carders/future main eventers, only to drop them at the tip of the a hat, it's hard to imagine either Miz or Morrison winning a World Title right now.

But hey, I probably said the same thing about Cena and Orton in 2002, so who knows?

Had to go with Morrison. Sure Miz is carrying around a shitload of gold right now, but if he wants to get to the next level, he will have to, amongst many other things, develop a more diverse move-set than what he has right now. I mean, really, they took the classic facebuster maneuver and decided they could dress it up and make it look/sound all fancy as the Skull-Crushing Finale? Puh-LEASE.

Morrison's just shown he has more pure talent, more athleticism, slightly more charisma, and is more over with the fans. I think one area that he's still working on however, that could use some slight improvement is on the stick. If he can take his promo game from good to great, he will definitely be a world champion before his career in WWE is said and done.

To be honest, I don't think The Miz will ever win a World Title with a name like 'The Miz'. Then again, someone called Sheamus did just have a two month title reign.

miz is on raw...morrison on SD! i feel like w/ batista gone and taker out of the picture its more likely morrison gets a title push first because SD! has less already established main eventers

I love them both, but I think Miz has the edge on Morrison right now. I feel that he has the fans "behind him" (despite being a heel), because he does a great job getting good heat.

And while I think Morrison is the better wrestler, he doesn't really have the fans' full support just yet. Is that entirely his fault? No. He's not doing much of anything, so it's hard for fans to get behind that. Could he get it soon? Absolutely, and I fully expect that to happen.

I just don't see Morrison winning first, if the two got title shots tomorrow.

Kinda like they did with Shawn Michaels? And John Cena? And Randy Orton? And Edge? And Batista? And just about every other wrestler?

Take away the name from those finishers and what do you have? A super kick, a Fireman's Carry, a Cutter, a Spear (which is also used as a standard move) and a Sit-Down Powerbomb respectively.

Just about every finisher is a regular move "dressed up" to sound devastating. It's certainly no reason to shit on a guy. By that logic, you want almost every guy on the roster to change his finisher.

I said this in other threads, but it is related enough to post here.

I think a great way for Miz to win the title would be to take down Cena for it, given their brief history. I'd like to see him beat down Cena with the [Money in the Bank] case after his matches, teasing a cash-in, but challenging him to a legit match to actually win it (via fluke rollup).

That will probably never happen, but I think it would be a great way to get the belt on Miz, if even for a short time.

I'd like to see the winner (in this case, Miz) cash in at that Mania. It'd be especially interesting if that individual had never main-evented Mania before that point. If the challenger loses, there is a [kayfabe] reason for it and for a rematch. Challenger wins, it's "beginner's luck" and grounds for a rematch with the former champion.

I voted for The Miz and I'd like to raise a point of contention!

Miz is easily as over as Morrison if not a little more. The Miz has amazing heel heat at the moment. He's getting great reactions from the crowds, they all hate him! Morrison seems to get a moderate reaction to complete indifference. I think Miz showing more star power as well. Morrison hasn't really got much of a character right now and seems entirely directionless. The Miz has a ton of momentum and he's earned it on RAW of all places! I think we can all agree it's not the best place for making new stars or showing off midcard talent.

I agree with this. It is harder to become a star on Raw with Cena, HHH, and HBK always ahead of you, and it seems like those 3 don't put people over as much as others.

Meanwhile on Smackdown, the only person who is always ahead of you is Batista. You may argue Taker, but he is rarely there and he does lose when it is needed.

Overall, I think it is easier to become a star in Smackdown than Raw and that makes it weird to me because The Miz is a bigger star than Morrison. Just as you said, when The Miz comes out, the place boos like crazy. Meanwhile, Morrison comes out and it is very lukewarm.

I just feel The Miz is in the better position to become a World Champion.

I am confused how you can say Morrison has more charisma than Miz. If anything, of the three you mentioned, talent, athleticism, and charisma, charisma is the only thing that The Miz has over Morrison.

I honestly thing that the fact that Miz has more momentum right now is by design. I think WWE knows that Morrison can deliver and will be a future star, so they're kind of biding their time with him.

I agree with Juan. The WWE are just giving us little teases with Morrison right now. He got to be in the Elimination Chamber, and he did quite well in the match. I truthfully expected his "injury" to be a kayfabe excuse to either swap him out or have him be the first eliminated, but he out-lasted R-Truth, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio.

He's also got a DVD out, which is nothing to sneeze at. It's the WWE's way of testing you to see if you earn money. Just how is that DVD doing? If you love John Morrison, the best thing I can recommend doing is ordering that one in. Morrison is certainly not hated by the WWE, and he is proving himself to be so dependable when they want a great match out of a guy.

Now, that's not to say The Miz is not doing well. He is. So far, he's been the star of WWE NXT, and he's currently carrying around three bits of gold (a WWE record). He's so confident on the mic. That being said, while it would not surprise me to see The Miz make it to the top one day, I think he is further off than some think.
