Or just a ramble of why you love or hate him would suffice.

Get any ROH show DVD from June 18th 2005 to August 12th 2005... That is the short period of time in which Punk was ROH champion, not only is he gold in that time period but all the shows are excellent. I own "The Homecoming" and "Fate of an Angel" both shows are great.

This was the first Punk match I ever saw. Thought it was amazing and Punk's promo was great.

I love the way CM Punk takes his real-life beliefs, and he manages to actually rotate them slightly, and uses them as a way to make him loathed in his job. He's a born performer, and it's actually a really admirable thing to do for your art, in my opinion. Like Chris Jericho, he's one of those guys who when he decides to play a heel character, will make himself loathed to the point where it almost seems impossible for them to be liked.

In a PG-WWE world, CM Punk's character is sort of a bizarre outcast. At the very essence of his message are truths that children would be best to learn about -- but at the same time we are meant to hate him for it, and he's got this bizarre "Christ figure" thing going on about him. It's all fairly sensitive stuff, and I appreciate that the WWE have let him do this.

I also think the man had a lot of hurdles in his career. It's all childish bullshit, but being the indy darling that he was, and even using a Pedigree off the top rope when he was outside the WWE is the sort of stuff that does lead to doghouse jokes. I'm not nearly surprised the guy has done well, but he's managed to secure himself as a crucial part of WWE programming so flawlessly. And he's managed to remain much the same as he always has been. He's one of the few pure joys in professional wrestling. The dude has not had many "lows."

Survivor Series 2006 remains such a surreal moment to me. In fact, a lot of moments with Punk feel that way. Sometimes I'm watching him, and it doesn't feel that this should be flying in the WWE. But it is.

Imagine this guy in the Attitude era. His heat would have been TREMENDOUS. CM Punk vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin, to me, is a dream feud. Following pretty closely by CM Punk vs. Rob Van Dam. We got Punk vs. Jeff Hardy, though, so that's something. I just wish that Punk had someone in the WWE currently that really represented the culture that Punk loathes.
