God yeah, when King and Cole are forced to laugh during the guest host skits, makes my skin crawl.

King used to be so much better at it, been watching old raws n smackdowns and i just dunno why he can't be like that still.

King lost his touch when he had to start being PG, and stray away from his true self.

I remember watching RAW a few months ago and he said something funny like he used to and Cole, after a moment of awkward silence was like "you can't say that anymore"

and I also blame his pairing with Michael Cole.

King and JR were the perfect team, and should be the ones that represent RAW.

The sounds emanating from a bag of wet feral cats is far more soothing than anything emanating from michael coles voicebox.

I feel like they should be treating JR and King like CBS treats Letterman. Stop trying to put up and comer announcers in their seats and just let them keep calling Raw until they are dead.

Does anyone else hate the PPV announce team they have now? I dunno, seems a bit lopsided or something with King, Cole and Striker. Wish they'd go back to having the Raw table and the Smackdown table. Feel sorry for Todd Grisham, I think he does a good job and then he doesn't get a chance on PPV :( And it feels stupid having King and Cole calling Smackdown matches when they haven't been associated with those wrestlers or that show. Also, you can tell King does absolutely no homework or watches the other shows. Like last night he was absolutely perplexed as to why Rosa Mendes was accompanying Zack Ryder. He's pretty clueless.

cole is the anti-christ...he needs to be publicly flogged for his ignorance

How about punch a baby? Yeah, the RAW announce team has been horrible. Cole last night during the Hornswoggle segment was really bad. I can barely listen to King anymore. Maybe just the combo of these 2 and PG era really kills them. But look, divas!

yeah the pillow fight was ok until they started attempting actual moves...i love watching the divas wrestle but if its a pillow fight, fight with fucking pillows! kelly kelly needs to stop smiling all the damn time...i just wanted ask her "what the fuck is so funny? pick that pillow up and get to work!" but thats just the hood comin out lol

He lost his touch long before that. Lawler hasn't been the same in commentary since he left the WWE because the Kat got fired back in early 2001.

I hate that King pays zero attention to the other shows.

100% agree with all these posts. Joey Styles back to RAW to replace Michael Cole. I've read reports that Jim Ross may not come back, so either make King and Styles the announcers for RAW, or if JR returns, replace Cole with Styles until JR returns. I loved King & Styles back in late 2005/early 2006.

King & JR/Styles on RAW, Matthews & Cole on NXT, and Striker & Grisham on SmackDown. King & JR/Styles call only RAW matches on PPV, and Striker & Grisham call only SmackDown matches on PPV. Please keep Cole away from ever calling another PPV.

King was sucking well before the pg era. Just like the wholeproduct.

Michael Cole's work with Tazz, JBL, Mick Foley and Josh Mathews has led me to believe that he is the lesser of two evils. Jerry Lawler is the fucking hack in there, and should have stepped out of the booth a long time ago. The dude sucks as a bland face, and pretty much just ghosts exactly what the play-by-play guy is saying. He also doesn't watch the other shows, and he in no way puts those guys over by acting like he has no clue who they are.

As the voice of RAW, I think Cole is fine for the time. But he needs a partner who gives a shit. JBL would be ideal. Layfield actually put guys over, and made you care about them. He was like a heel JR. But JBL probably doesn't have the time to return. If not him, then I'd consider re-signing Booker T for the position. Cole & Booker would make an interesting tandem. Give Paul Heyman a call, and see what the "evil genius" is up to. Jim Ross, if he wants to work full-time, could bring his color commentator persona over to RAW and work with Cole, but for some reason I don't see that working.

Hell, if William Regal is ready to step out of the squared-circle, he could make a nice living doing color commentary for the WWE. He's made appearances in the booth before, and has been fantastic. He'd add that heel edge to the booth, as well. Having a PPV commentary team of Cole, Regal & Matt Striker would also be like sex to me.

Michael Cole sucks.

As the voice of RAW, Joey Styles would be ideal for the position, but if Jim Ross wants to return, bring him back to RAW with Jerry Lawler.

Like Noid said, I've always liked Cole, it's only since coming to Raw he's annoyed me. It's either Lawler's fault or just the way Raw is structured differently to Smackdown. Either way, I wish he could go back to Smackdown with JBL. Those were the days.

I keep wanting to rep you for this post, but I have already done so. So I will honour it with a quote.

Michael Cole and Hornswogggle are totally doing it.

Yeah, I wish JBL could return but I doubt he has the time. Cole & JBL were a fantastic commentary tandem. In a way, they were almost TOO good because I was too busy laughing at JBL's comments to focus on the match at times.

On his blog, Jim Ross noted:

"I don't think that WWE is interested in putting me back on weekly TV and all the travel that comes along with it at this time. Would I love to work with King again? Certainly. Is this my call? Nope. Do I think that I will ever be paired with Lawler again on a regular basis? Highly unlikely."

I’d love to have JR back just to announce Pay-Per-Views. Whatever happens, I really hope he’s at WrestleMania. He noted earlier in the week that he’ll be ready if WWE wants him there. I certainly couldn’t deal with Michael Cole reading his cue cards during Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon or Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker.

Michael Cole will ALWAYS be JR's replacement and no matter how hard he tries, he will never leave the shadow of JR.

Cole has sucked from day one. Remember the St. Valentine's Day Massacre from 1999 when Austin Vs. McMahon in the steel cage? That fall McMahon took was "OMG, McMahon fell 20 Ft!" Oh really, Mikey? Cause in '98 during the Mankind Vs. Taker HIAC, JR said the HIAC was 16 ft. high, yet the steel cage is 20? Now I know all wrestling people exaggerate, but Cole completely insulted the audience's intelligence by suggesting Vince fell 20 ft. I shake my head everytime I hear his pathetic attempt at broadcasting that night. The only time I ever felt like he did a good job was on Jan. 4, 1999 when Mick Foley won the title from the Rock.

My 2 cents.

I'm somewhat surprised and disappointed the ever popular "Michael Cole rips into a fan on the radio" youtube clip hasn't made an appearance here.

One thing about Jim Ross, is that he didn't feel like just a commentator. He felt like he existed in the WWE world. They should perhaps have one of Michael Cole's buddies in the business become his "favourite wrestler" and start tying Cole in with that. Again, say what you want about announcer-related angles, but I think they have a lot to do with why JR is so popular. If Cole had something a little more emotional to his character, then I think people would buy into him more.

For example: Daniel Bryan should consider beating the shit out of Michael Cole for all the trash Cole has talked. During this time, have Josh Mathews fill-in on RAW, which gives him some more exposure. Michael Cole can then return, and either be anti-Bryan, or perhaps sing a different tune about his abilities.
