I was reading xero's (fucking amazing) article and I was wondering what "shoots" of the past, we now know were staged, and what "shoots" were actually shoots.
What do you think smarks?

Goldberg/Steiner/Kevin Nash at New Blood Rising 2000 (just watched the entire PPV an hour ago) was a worked shoot......
For those who cannot remember, Goldberg was in position for a Jackknife, then pushed Nash away, with Nash seemingly confused. Goldberg left, met Vince Russo on the ramp and said "fuck you." The announcers then played it up like Goldberg was supposed to take the Jackknife, but 'broke kayfabe' without directly saying the phrase.......

What was the deal with WCW at that time? I'm just wondering why they're talking about "whether or not the move was part of the match" or if there was a part where "Goldberg was supposed to look good" or not.
Any shoots that came out of the WCW/Russo era were more than likely worked shoots.

Care to elaborate?
Speaking of Pillman, I heard two shoots recently (one with Kevin Kelly and one [technically not a shoot] with Les Thatcher) and they both said that no one knew about the gun.

hmm...
I would say the opening minutes of Orton vs. Angle at the second ONS was a legit shoot. Where Angle was working him stiff as hell and just making him look like he had no business setting up a ring, let alone working in one.

Orton didn't and still doesn't deserve to be where he is.

Well, right. Obviously he doesn't deserve his spot because he didn't marry the WWE Chairman's daughter.

Am gonna research it a bit and I'll get back with you. I started watching wrestling a little bit after that and was never exposed to much of Pillman. I think the first I witnessed of Pillman was his feud with Goldust over Marlena

The alleged reason Regal left WCW in 98. Regal was supposed to get squashed by Goldberg like so many before and after him. But Regal said fuck that and started beating the shit out of Goldberg and mat wrestling him. You can see Goldberg's just like what the fuck are you doing?

I also don't get the big deal out the match anyways. It was a decent match, and outside of being caught off guard, Goldberg seemed just fine with what as going on. Not to mention while squashing is fun for a while, a decent match like that is a good change of pace.

The cool part about this match is once Goldberg realized what was occurring, he managed to pull off some nice wrestling moves people and sort of shocked some people who didn't think he had the skills for a "shoot"/technique match.

The original worked shoot of Gotch-Hackenschmidt in early 1900s. Gentleman's agreement to split the 1st 2 matches of a best of 3 but Gotch tricked his opponent and "stole" the series 2-0 for the title.
Its a worked shoot that became a real shoot based on how both wrestlers agree to "fix" the outcome of the 1st 2 matches but then a shoot in the 1st match when Gotch stole a win.

His worked shoot was not a single moment. It extended from 1995-1996.

He's also really not dead, but did almost die.
That counts as a worked shoot I guess.

When that guy came on right before a commercial break and said "The following message has been paid for by the New World Order". That was a bull shit shoot. They didn't really have to pay for it.
