Shawn Michaels has been telling friends as of late he plans on retiring at WrestleMania. His contract is set to expire soon and he has talked about wanting to spend more time with his children as they grow up.

Michaels himself has made noise about retiring in recent years, to the point that WWE actually scripted jokes about it on Raw. After taking time off in 2008, he made noise about deciding not to come back. Like previous times he’d taken time off, WWE would call him back to return and he would. He also said in a radio interview last year that he had told the company his retirement date (which at the time was this year’s WrestleMania). On the other hand, he’s brought up the idea of wrestling well into his fifties, though only a match or two per year.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if this is his second to last match. I would, however, be pretty suprised if it was his last.

I think WWE will talk him into doing a better sendoff. He deserves it, and I don't see why he wouldn't want it. I believe that he could very well be done with full-time, or pretty much done in general.

I still think he'll have an actual final match next year against HHH though. They'll likely want to get him into the HOF too.

It would be nice to see him do that, and actually stick to his guns of retirement.

What are the chances that Ric Flair is still wrestling somewhere after Shawn fully retires?

Pretty good I'd say.

I'm sure he will come out of retirement for "one more match" this is Pro Wrestling after all. HHH will probably be his final opponent. WM 27 maybe? 15 years since he won the WWF Title at WM 12. WWE loves statistics

It would be kind of cool though if Bret Hart's first match back in the WWE (and extremely likely to be the last match of his career) would be on the same show as HBK's last match of his career.

That would be very sweet actually, i just want him as world champion one more time, even a 2-3 month reign. That shite dickhole, Undertaker is handed the belt constantly and he works fuck all compared to HBK. Maybe Taker is insecure as balls

Plus losing to Taker and "having no career" is too much of a downer for HBK's career to end on. He's always been the charismatic underdog, so an ending like that is just far too low key.

He will probably retire with his tail between his legs, and step up to a heel HHH as a huge re-energized babyface. It would be cool to see him come back for ONE NIGHT ONLY, in what will be promised as his real final match. I'd even be all for it being Career vs Title. All or nothing.

If he pulled out a "miracle" victory against HHH and retired champion I would buy it.

WWE could use a tournament PPV for the WWE title anyways

What Would Kevin Do?

I hope he doesn't really retire at this Mania, as A. it would be a downer, B. his last match really should be against HHH, and C. I want a CM Punk/HBK feud, and a real HBK/ John Morrison feud.

The Undertaker is a much more suitable opponent for HBK's retirement match than Triple H. Come on.

If it's over then great, he will go out on top and like a champ. If he comes back, well then he's just the next cliche wrestle who can't ever step away.

Pull a Randy Savage at WM7 moment. You lose the retirement match, so just change your name slightly, and there you go, your back with WWE.

Savage actually had to appeal to be reinstated to face Jake Roberts after he started fucking with him and Elizabeth at their wedding reception. Cause you know, the best way to retaliate against the guy that put a cobra in one of your wedding gifts is to beat him in a wrestling match.

Wow, reread what I just posted and I can't believe how absurd it is when you think about it. Gotta love prowrestling.
