Who will be the better face - Edge or Orton?

A year ago these were two of the biggest heels in the WWE and over the past 4-5 years they have been two of the biggest dick heels in recent memory. Edge with his whole Lita/Vickie stuff and Orton the crazy sociopath. Now they are two of the biggest faces. They have both played the face role in the past and going by that I would say Edge has been far more successful as a face (he was pretty damn over in 2002) whilst Orton's babyface run in late-2004 was a total failure.

This is the first time the former Rated RKbrO's are fairly established top guys in the company and are both face. So who do you think has been better thus far? Also in the long run -- who has the potential to be the more successful babyface? I personally think they are both better as a heel (but honestly 90% of wrestlers are) but I have a feeling Randy Orton will be able to pull off the "anti-hero" face that is lacking in todays WWE. Edge is over and all but I can sense him being too bland killing his overness (I don't think he will get boo'ed like Cena) he will simply just not be as over and will be forced to turn heel sometime this year.

I had a thread last week about Orton becoming like the next Austin if he keeps going like he is. I hated Edge so much as a face the last time and i was sure he'd be awesome this time. So far, apart from one or two smart ass comments, he has totally sucked, the 'spear' stuff is embarrassing. Hope he drops that very soon.

I'm a bigger fan of Edge overall, but I think with the right approach Orton's current direction as a face could be better.
I don't have a problem with Edge's current direction though.

I think Orton's will win out in the end..don't know why...but i think they are handling his turn well as most of you have pointed out with the anti-hero gimmick..don't know about him being in the same category as Austin, because of personality, but who knows.

other than jericho, there is not much for a face Edge to feud with...but on second thought, Edge going up against the "straight edge society" and it's leader, would own Summer 2010...

Edge is likable even when he is a heel, which is not good for a heel.

Edge is on his way to grab the title at Mania. So his face run is all but set. Yet, as many have said, he's 100x better as a heel. But I'm curious as to where his path goes after wrestlemania. Feud with Punk, get traded to Raw. Who knows.

As a huge Orton fan, he's better off as a solid heel. Hell, bring back the IED and head punting again. It's what got him off the ground in the first place. But I'm worried on what happens when this thing with Legacy is over. He had that minor feud with Kofi that came and went in the blink of an eye. I'm always game for a title run, but I won't wanna see Orton/Cena: Part 1,000. Now Orton/Batista. Dig up some Evolution seeds, heel vs. anti-hero. I can watch that.

So yeah, my vote goes to Randy Orton.

This is definitely a lesser of two evils pick, but I'm picking Orton. The reason for this is that Edge can only ride the steam from his return for so long. We've seen it before. He's going to get stale, he's going to be booked into a match with someone like Punk or Legacy or Christian, he's going to be booed out of the building, and the writers will pull the plug on it.

Also though face Orton who wears a suit and tie and smiles for pictures is the biggest mistake I could possibly think of. Keeping the anti-hero "Viper" sort of persona, cold and calculating and quick striking with no real allegiances to anybody, is 100% the way to go with a face Orton.

I'm a huge Edge fan, but frankly, Edge's face turn has pretty much thrown away a lot of his character from before his injury. Orton's has been a more subtle shift, and while that may change in the future, right now Orton's turn is going much better.

Orton's character hasnt changed in the last month or so since he has became a face. He is the exact same guy just they have him fueding with Legacy. So there is no need to change up any part of his angle or character just keep him feuding with heels who are over and youre set

I totally marked out this past Monday when Orton started destroying people. I wish the match had another 3-4 mins to really take it in.
