View Full Version : Something weird about these recent swerves by WWE lately

The on-air stuff, such as the return of Grandmaster Sexay, the Draft Lottery, much of the stuff for WrestleMania XX, seems to be playing into a sense that we never hear anything about these until they are done on a RAW or SmackDown taping (not a SmackDown airing, but the actual taping OF SmackDown) on a main wrestling news site such as Rajah or TPWW, or even prowrestling.com . Has anyone else noticed this, as well? Anyone else think that the WWE is now getting more tight-lipped about details around what their angles and returns are going to be around people that would spill to the internet?

Seems the internet people are going to have to be more penetrating into the details so we can know BEFORE they actually do it. I don't really know how they are able to keep so much stuff under wraps before it happens, but I would love to know this if anyone else has an idea as to how.

It's been documented in staff meetings that Vince doesn't want wrestlers/workers leaking stuff. And Brock said he's kill anyone on the internet.

OMG!!!!! All this surprise stuff has been happening since Brock left!!!

He was the Leak!!!!!

He may have also been Willie the Worker!!!!

Spread the rumours!!!

Well, consider that none of the Smackdown workers even knew about the draft lottery. Vince's becoming pretty tight lipped, I'd imagine.

That is something else about it that told me that things have changed since WM XX. Could it actually be that McMahon is really knowing what too much leaking can do?

This can be bittersweet, though, as you saw how the SD stars were reacting to the announcement of the draft lottery (NO one knew about THAT, not even a HINT of a clue). Depending on how they handle it, it could be bad or good to do it this way?

Now if only they could make SmackDown live, that would be SWEET!!

Yeah the lottery is a bad example because it was a last minute decision when Brock quit.

In terms of GMS, a signing can happen at any time. Its not like he's a big name like Sting or Hogan or someone like that, so its less likely to get out.

Things are still getting out. Austin's contract dispute with the WWE has been well documented, Bradshaw's title shot was know about long before they did the angle on TV. So its not like the WWE has silenced their rats.

I doubt the WWE has rats. JR would have them all killed, he's quite screamy about rodents. "MY GAWD, THEY'RE IN MY HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!"

^^^ Yeah. If they really wanted to throw us a curveball, they'd send out the wrong information. Like if they led everyone to think that Kane was going to get a huge push all of a sudden, and then when we expect it to happen, it doesn't. Then again, maybe they've been trying it this whole time. One guy here did try to tell everyone that Benoit was going to have the screwjob done to him at Backlash, and he did say that it was from an "insider source".

Everyone and their mom quotes an "insider cource." It's used so much that seeing that phrase almost detracts form the credibility of a story.

Well the thing is that Austin's contract dispute isn't a storyline point, and Bradshaw's push was more of an educated guess by those who pay attention, based on his turning heel and attacking Eddie, plus the fact that a SD PPV was still two months off at the time.

I just hope it cotinues like this. GMS returning was a surprise, albeit not much of a special one. But it was cool to get that surprise-ish feel.
