So, what do you older fans (like me) think of Wendi Richter being inducted into the Hall of Fame?

For those of you who aren't that familiar with Wendi, and I have a feeling that's more than a few of you, she was screwed long before Bret was.

The only honest thing I remember about her was her winning the Women's Title at WM1. I saw bits of Moolah being "The Spider Lady" but that's about it.

What should determine whether or not someone goes in?
They inducted Koko B. Ware, and Bob Uecker is being inducted this year, as you know, so I don't see why Wendi Richter shouldn't be inducted. Wasn't she really the first "diva" before the E started using that word?

I take it you're rather young because anyone old enough would know The Sheik, Maivia, and Blackjacks definitely deserve to be in HOF

Wendi, I think I've stated before, was one of the top draws for the WWF in the early Rock 'n Wrestling era. As big as, if not bigger than, Hogan. Then came Spiderlady incident, and that was that.

One thing that confused me: Why didn't they try to get Cyndi Lauper to induct her?

Hall of Fame is for excellence not for being "pretty good."

I'm not a big fan of The Sheik, but he deserves to go in based off his promoting alone; nevermind the fact that he worked on top of the card (albeit often through his own booking, but whatever) with nearly everyone who was anyone back then.

Sheik's promotion lasted somewhere near 15-17 years, and everyone came through his territory. That surely qualifies him for the HoF.

Putski, Rodz, Vachon, Volkoff, all surely belong in there. For various reasons.

Richter, I don't know. I've seen far less deserving go in, Koko B Ware for sure, but I don't Richter ever proved her longevity as a draw. It's like putting Ultimate Warrior or Goldberg in. Yeah, they were popular - but for a short while. We know they will all go in (Warrior, obviously Richter, Goldberg, etc.) but whether they truly deserve it or not is another story.

Wendi Richter deserves the HOF... I'm not sure she deserves a 7-part shoot interview though.
