What's up with Zeke?

We noted last night that Ezekiel Jackson was notably missing from last night's Wrestlemania 26 battle royal before the PPV began. Jackson was not in Phoenix at all during the Wrestlemania festivities. In asking around today, no one seemed to know why.

it would be a strange way to let him go being the last one to hold the wweecw belt, i am sure tna would like to pick him up with all the old ecw guys there. he would have a good fued with rhyno, the real last ecw champ fued

Wow, I knew he wasn't on the show at all (or the preshow battle royal) but I would have thought he would have at least been backstage. Maybe he had a personal reason to not be there.

When you consider that the WWE did make a point to put him over as the last ECW champion and started airing promo packages saying he was coming to Smackdown, only to pretty much drop his build and hold off his debut, it would seem something is up. I was thinking that he kinda fell through the cracks during the Mania buildup over the last few months and that they would hold back his debut until after Mania, when things cool off and kinda 'start over'. Dunno.

Maybe the plan was to have him win the battle royal, but they decided to give Yoshi the push and save Ezekiel for a later date - as to not have it get thrown in with all the WM stuff.

Or maybe there is just something personal that kept him away.

Hopefully it's nothing serious, like a death in the family, etc.

If that's try, ddpBANG, I am very sorry to hear that. A personal reason or being released were the two leading options. Another is that creatively they wanted to keep him off TV until they had a way to really push him effectively.
