Anyone watching it? Tell me if it is good and if I should watch it. I thoroughly enjoyed Battlestar Galactica but am kind of dubious about the concept of a prequel series.

If you are looking for BSG don't bother, yes it is a prequel but it is nothing like BSG - that being said it is a bloody good show.

Eric Stoltz is the man, I am throughly enjoying it. Watch the movie pilot first and the the series. it won't make any sense if you try and watch it halfway through.

I have the caprica pilot DVD sitting right next to me, waiting to be watched. I will enjoy it with some Hagaan Das Belgian Chocolate ice Cream this saturday.

I've been rather enjoying it - as has been said, just don't go in expecting BSG.

That's part of why I'm asking. If I was expecting BSG, I'd have been watching it already.

So I finally watched the pilot, and I liked it. I wasn't blown away or anything. But it definitely left wanting to watch more, so I await the first season to be released on DVD.

And just so you know, Nunder, the Hagaan Das was DEE-licious.

P.S.

The Zoe chick is rather cute.

What the hell is going on with the show at the moment? Is it being cancelled after one season?

SyFy seem to be pratting about with scheduling, waiting until the first half has gone out on DVD, before showing the rest and deciding whether to commission a second season.

Still haven't seen an episode.

Fuck Syfy.

I think they are going to have another Galactica spin-off series, but this time set in the early years of the first cylon war.

Even though I hate buying DVD box sets that have no real ending, is it worth actually buying it when the full season comes out on dvd? I've only ever seen the pilot, which I liked. But with no real conclusion...blah.

I watched the first two or three episodes...terrible. Turned into a teenage family drama.

I'm about half way through this now. Don't think I've ever seen a show with a more unlikeable set of main characters.

I'm a BSG fan, but haven't seen this. From the comments here, it should stay that way, but I'm curious.

Iggy, more impressions, please.

I've still got 6 episodes to go but... I guess it gives you a little bit more involvement from the BSG universe, details on how the current crop of cylons came to be, a little on the Adama family (although not much of it is of much interest) and general interactions between the people from different colonies. The best part of the show is probably the Graystone Industries and the development of the cylons, but that's become more about company politics than the actual cylons now.

But the main antagonists in the show are a pretty lacklustre terrorist group, the "virtual world" storylines are possibly a bit more interesting, but the main character in that arc, "Zoe Graystone", is one of the more irritating in the show.

It's only 18 episodes so you could give it a go and get through it pretty quickly, but it doesn't really offer anything extra to BSG.

I've been watching 2-3 episodes a day. I think my main problem with it is just how little I care about any of the characters. They're all so bland and boring. Daniel Graystone is alright I suppose, and Sam Adama would probably be more interesting if they used him more other than just as a hitman. Not one of the others are interesting to me in the slightest.
