I must say when I heard that the WWE was going with a "reality" style show with the pro/rookie idea, I was very skeptical. However I feel they have utilised the who idea perfectly so far, what with the Cole/Matthews announcing, the use of Bryan Danielson, the overall interactions between pros and rookies and the apparent longevity of the idea. So is NXT the best thing about wrestling right now?

Discuss.

Wouldn't go that far but it's a much better substitute for ECW but even though only one person will win this competition i'd be willling to bet that most if not all make the main roster sooner or later.

Its started off ok, they should do a king of the ring style tourney to determine the winner though, would be more fun.

Which wrestlers on NXT do you see making it on the main roster even after the show is over? I'd say:

Brian
Slater
Barrett
Gabriel
Otunga

For me, I am still happy that I was able to see Jericho do the Lion Tamer again. As for the show, it is hit or miss for me. Some shows I thought were really good, others just so-so. Still watch it though.

Jericho on commentary a couple weeks ago was the best thing to happen in WWE in quite some time. I think Smackdown is still where it's at, though.

I honestly look forward to NXT every week more than Raw or Smackdown. Like many I thought the idea was gonna be alright but now I believe that its great. I do hope its something they keep going after this season because I enjoy actually seeing some fresh faces for once.

The show is much better than I expected, but like Tough Enough, I expect a vast majority of the "Rookies" to make it onto the actual Rosater once the show concludes..... but my question is, what will happen when a winner is crowned? will they have a new set of 8 Rookies? will another 'concept' show be created? That is my concern....

nxt is great, but not the best thing in wrestling right now i probably won't even tune in once brian danielson is on the main wwe roster.
imho the best thing(s) in wrestling right now are Dragongate USA and evolve.

speaking of which did any catch evolve 1 on dvd? its a pretty unique approach to a wrestling show, it was awesome.

I remember reading a while back that they were gonna do 3 16-week seasons a year. Of course, assuming they stick with the concept.

I'm calling it... Darren Young won't win, but he's going to turn into the WWE's next "Rock". Whenever I see him right now, I immediately jump to the Rock's debut and how ridiculous he was. He needs to go straight edge and learn the art of promos from punk.

I think DGUSA and pwg and evolve and roh are the best things going right now

The episode where Jericho kept interrupting Cole and Mathews on commentary was one of the funniest things so far from the show.

I'm so glad this was the first thread I clicked on when I came to TPWW tonight. I'm drunk, and I just watched NXT, and I have to say -- it was pure ecstasy. I'm way too drunk to check if I spelled "ecstasy" right. I haven't watched it in a few weeks, so I missed Jericho's apparently awesome commentary (a link would be appreciated), but this week was fucking awesome.

Michael Cole and Josh Mathews are awesome together. I love heel Cole, and am hoping Daniel Bryan gets to choke him out. I also love how entertaining Matt Striker is, and the smarky references from Bryan/Tarver/Striker.

Seriously, great show. Gonna watch it more regularly from now on (hopefully). I love the way heel/face dynamics don't matter much. They're throwing these guys into a tough position to help them earn their stripes.

Now that I've posted on NXT, I'm off to masturbate to my Courtney Taylor thread. Peace out, bitches!
