View Full Version : Most Likely Scenario: United Kingdom Wrestlemania or Anywhere Else Wrestlemania

All I want you to vote for is which scenario is most likely:
Wrestlemania taking place in the United Kingdom
or
Wrestlemania taking place anywhere else except the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom
If you think both are likely just vote for which you think is most likely or which one you'd think would happen first.
UK. If they're going to do one out of North America, it better be in Wembly Stadium.
Though a Tokyo Dome Mania would be amazing. Just don't know how well it'd go over with the fans.

That's what I would think... though not specifically Wembly, I just thought if it were anywhere it would be the UK.

If its out of NA then definitely the UK.
Though I'd think Mexico would be a possibility.
The only problem with all of this is the timezone issues. It either means Mania starts earlier in the day on PPV (most reasonable) or late at night at the event (if they went with a normal 7PM start time EST, that's midnight UK time).

Yeah for the time zone reasons I don't they would risk it.

That's what I was thinking, but then I thought that they could adjust it and work it out.
I mean, yes, North America is their main auidience but I'm sure it could work.

Taped Mania lol
Yeah, Mania or any other WWE PPV is not going to be taped. Just can't be. It has to air live in the US.

If Wrestlemania ever leaves North America, United Kingdom is the logical choice......

I agree.
Though one could debate that the other two main contenders are Mexico and Japan have a pretty good chance as well.
I see it as the UK being number one, and Japan being number two and Mexico being number three.
I would like to see a Mania in another country. The audience participation will be interesting and enthusiastic unlike the fans in the States nowadays.

John Cena Superman.

John Cena Superman.
You know he would totally come out with a Superman costume on, or some sort of Superman intro into his match.
I was actually discussing this with some friends during Mania 26. There'd have to be some kind of compremise with the timing. A late start in the UK, say 10pm, would still mean a 5pm start time on the east coast (and even earlier - 2pm? - on the west).
This leaves a problem with parents wanting to take kids - even if the tickets would sell lilke hot-cakes.

Another thing that detracts from the WWE doing this is that they don't have a big star who is from the UK.
The reason why Summerslam worked so well was because of Davey Boy Smith.
WWE is huge in the UK. I suppose a large part of that is because it's so rarely there. They'd easily sell out Wembly.
That said, I think it's more likely we'll get a SummerSlam than a Mania elsewhere. I think SummerSlam 2012 could work from the UK, as it'd be the 20th anniversary (:shifty:) of the Bret/Davey SummerSlam.

I was thinking about it the other night and wondering how long until WWE had another attempt at a "Blue Blazer" style entrance. Not that I think it'd end the same way or anything, but I could totally see them doing it as one of Cena's Mania entrances.
Cena on the zip line ala HBK at Mania 12, only in a Superman pose.
i dont know if they will do a mania outside of the u.s. its the biggest event of the year and they would more likey do like summerslam outside the country

Japan might be able to work out logistically if you think about it...
WWE could have a 8pm start on Sunday airing live and the show would be 9am Monday in Tokyo...

Japanese people love work though, so they wouldn't take Monday off to go to Wrestlemania.

Fuck Wembley. The MCG or Etihad Stadium in Australia. The MCG doesn't have a roof, but it holds 100,000 people in the stands. Add seating on the ground itself and it would be huge. Plus it would get filled, mainly because it's wrestlefreakingmania. Etihad, the other option IS under covers and can hold over 70,000 people.
The costs to come here would be much greater, but they've done it before. Plus, WM generally kicks off at 10am here, and people would take the day off work for the show.

The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff makes more sense, it can hold 120,000 for a start, although it does involve going to Wales.
I have to go hide from Team Sheep now...

Yeah but it's not just about the biggest venue. Wembley's a much more famous venue and it's in London. Wales isn't really the ideal place to host an event which will attract people from all over the world. No disrespect, but I think most non-UK tourists would rather see London, plus transport and accommodation could prove to be a problem.

On the other hand, the sheep fucking would make many American fans feel at home. :D
Sad to say, but the internet really ruins the chances of major overseas PPV's like Wrestlemania, SummerSlam, etc. WWE doesn't do them because of the major time difference involved. Results would get back to fans here in the U.S. and thus would ruin the buyrates for the PPV. Really sucks because SummerSlam 92 at Wembley is probably in the top 3 for my all time favorite PPV's
