No. It's probably more memorable that he botched it than if he hit it. It would have been great, but I don't think a move would ever be the greatest moment ever.
It would have been on the Mania replays, for sure.
And wouldn't overshadow what what was a really awesome match.
I hate that the botched SSP always overshadows how amazing that match was. Stupid internet.

Well it was quite a memorable thing. It was the finish, after all. That's usually what people remember most. Unfortunately people remember it negatively, when the match was awesome

him missing ssp is in my top 20 favourite moments in wrestlmania histroy if he hit the move it would not make my top 50
I have to wonder if Brock hit it if he'd have used it on semi-regular basis or only bust it out once in a great while.
Did he do it in Japan?

I thought Booker T hitting the Harlem Hangover was almost as awesome

i also throught that if angle didn't have a broken neck the match could of went a extra 10mins

It would have been nice if Lesnar didn't leave, because a Mania match with HBK would have been better

Don't think so. Mania was the only time he busted it out, IIRC. There's a video of him doing it perfectly in OVW or something.
Yeah, this is the video that's been circulating for years.

I remember seeing it before he even debuted.
Had Angle only been about 5 feet closer....

Would have been off the charts. HBK is the perfect size opponent for Brock as he was always great in the role of the monster heel vs the little underdog. Remember his match with Eddie Guerrero at No way out 2004? One of the best matches I've ever seen

Says right in the first few moments that it was cut 10 minutes.
The whole video is relevant to this thread.

I wonder who Brock was going to face at Mania if Angle wrestled his last match the week before. That's interesting

Cool :y:
Pretty crazy how good that match was considering Angle's condition and Lesnar being so nervous. Austin was hurt as hell during his match too and that was also really good. Looking back, Wrestlemania 19 could have been really ugly if Angle, Austin or Lesnar were seriously hurt in the ring.

I think the rumours were pointing to a Lesnar vs. Benoit match.

We needed Joey Styles for that match, just think when Lesnar jacked the SSP and you hear....

Lesnar once stated that missing the SSP made him realize how much he could get hurt in wrestling. Had he not botched it, he may still be wrestling today.

If he'd have hit it properly it would have been a greater but maybe less-talked about moment, similar to WMX HBK splash off the top of the ladder.
...HBK :(

I honestly think that would be a classic moment.
Imagine I guess finishes usually arent as remembered as the match itself though.

The thing about the SSP is he can do it very well in my opinion and the problem was Angle was too far out, if he was a little closer to the turnbuckle it would have been fine. Brock maybe should have tried to go for the cover and then moved him closer, but Brock is still one of my all time favorites.

That SSP was awesome, just to see that amount of mass busting out such a Cruiserweight move.... dammit.

i believe he hit one on sunday night heat before he debut on raw back in 2002
Just realized there's no video of the botch in this thread. That's unacceptable.

While Kurt was too far out, you can see Brock have that hesitation mid-air Kurt talked about in the shoot I posted. It's like he started the spin, stopped and then continued. It was almost like he did a flipping frog splash. He may have made it had he had the proper rotation.

I wonder if they paired Shelton with Lesnar as a tag team if it would've worked out.

On EWR, they were listed as a tag team called The Minnesota Wrecking Crew. Was that not a real team?

It wouldn't have been the greatest moment in WM history but botch or no botch it still would have been memorable for being one of those moves nobody would have expected for that match.
Every Wrestlemania for the last few years always has that one unexpected move or moment designed to create interest after the event like recently Undertaker using a jumping tombstone to end the match with HBK or HBK super-kicking Flair to end his WWE career.

Totally Agree. Was there that night and it was electric in there.
Then again I remember Brian Kendrick coming out as the "Pittsburgh Penguin" when he was in the gimmck to get a job with WWE that night and random Shark Boy chants all night as well after he wrestled a dark match.
