I hope this is as successful as the TPWW petition that forced WWF to use Tazz better back in 2001.

I can't in good conscience join this group. If he is brought back it would likely be as part of the SmackDown announce team...and I love the Grisham/Striker duo.

If JR came back, I'd want it to be on Raw. 3 man team of JR, King, and Cole. Cole could turn into the heel announcer he's been on NXT. Will never happen though, JR won't agree to change his entire schedule again like he had to do when he first got moved to SmackDown.

Oh, right.

I hope this is as successful as the TPWW petition that forced WWF to use Tazz better back in 2001.

If it's only half as successful, I'll consider it a victory.

I agree with this 100% actually. Let Michael Cole be a little bitter that Jim Ross is back, and that the "Hall of Fame" duo of JR & King are back together. JR would make a good third man, if he combined color with his usual hyperbole.

Cole & King didn't really annoy me as much as they have in the past when they were calling Superstars. I liked Jerry Lawler getting behind Ted DiBiase a bit, and Cole taking the face stance. King needs to be a heel so there is that dynamic there.

This stuff on NXT could be the "thing" that makes Michael Cole, though. If done right, they could do a Daniel Bryan/Michael Cole confrontation where Bryan punks out Cole, but Cole stands up for himself a bit, and in the end, Bryan ridicules Cole, but puts over his heart. I dunno -- I can picture it in my head. Cole needs some defining moments so that people see him as the special brand of announcer that JR was. Right now, he's just a guy with a headset that has been doing it for years.

I get a kick out of the fact that he's been with the company for so long, and the NXT bit is their first steps towards creating an identity for him.

I love it when announcers have personality. Who would have thought The Coach would become what he did?

Great ideas... I agree 100%...I can actually stomach the "vintage" comments when Cole is a heel...

Isn't JR, physically, unable to do any kind of schedule right now, hence why he's not on TV?

Last I heard, J.R. didn't do WrestleMania this year because of personal reasons, not health issues.

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler were horrible for years before they were split-up.

That's also what I heard, plus I've been reading his blog lately. Seems like he's been busy with his business and book, along with other projects. So as far as him showing back up anytime soon. Doesn't look like it.

No, but it will show us which spots of the gene pool need some chlorine.

From reading JR's blog (and I may be off and misreading him completely), it sounds like he actually would like to come back, but the WWE are happy with Michael Cole on RAW and their current teams on SmackDown!, and NXT is probably not a big enough gig to keep JR happy. Seems like they may be at a stand-still creatively for the guy. It felt to me like they didn't really want him to work WrestleMania because it would take away from their current commentators (a fair decision, in my opinion -- I remember being pissed off when they replaced Joey Styles with Jim Ross for WrestleMania one year).

He seems to be saying that he has a lot of other stuff to keep him busy, but it sounds to me like a "the WWE doesn't want to use me, but it's not the end of the world" sort of statement.
