Thist past years Hell in a Cell? I didn't watch it but didn't it have several good matches?

It can't possibly be the worst PPV. WCW had quite a few of those. So has WWE. Great American Bash 2004 was pretty fucking bad.

Then there's the Legends of Wrestling PPV, which wasn't put on by a major promotion, but was a horrible PPV nonetheless

Hell in a Cell was not the worst. It was pretty bad by today's standards, but there have been worse.

Some that need to be considered...

Heroes of Wrestling (10/10/99)
Main Event: Jake Roberts & Yokozuna v. Jim Neidhart & King Kong Bundy

WWF King of the Ring 1995
Main Event: Bam Bam Bigelow & Diesel v. Sid & Tatanka
(the KOTR that Mabel Won)

WCW Halloween Havoc 2000
Main Event: Goldberg v. KroniK (1 on 2 Handicap Match)

WWECW December to Dismember
Main Event: Extreme Elimination Chamber

TNA Victory Road 2009\
Main Event: Kurt Angle v. Mick Foley (for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship)

WWE Great American Bash 2004
Main Event: 2 on 1 Handicap Concrete Crypt Match

Ones that stand out are December to Dismember 2006, and New Year's Revolution 2005 (I think it featured 2 really bad injuries which ended 2 matches way short and the PPV ended not long after 2 hours).

NYR 2005 can't be the worst simply because the Elimination Chamber was a fucking great match. D2D 2006 was just shit top to bottom.

Kind of like Wrestlemania 13. That PPV was pretty horrible for the most part but it had one match that is one of the best ever, so it can't be the worst Mania, let alone worst PPV.

I like the main event too. It's horrible on paper, but they actually did a pretty good job. Shawn's commentary and Bret's involvement help it out a lot.
Plus it's cool that Taker was in the main event and won the title, which at the time was a first and didn't happen again for a long time.

I've only ever ordered a few WWE ppvs and then a few more watched at other places but Backlash 2002 is probably the worst I've seen.

Undertaker vs Stone Cold with Ric Flair as the ref ended up being the slowest pin count ever in a match. I remember watching that ppv over at a cousin's house and everyone was waiting when Flair would actually reach "3" since it dragged on too long mainly because Flair had a very slow pin count on every fall attempt.

Uncensored 1996 would have made it for me but I love Stin & Booker T v. The Road Warriors from that show.

The worst PPV I have ever seen is Hero's of Wrestling, it's extremely hard to get worse than that. WCW had tons of bad PPV's but they always had good undercard bouts.

What was on Halloween Havoc 98? Did that open with Jericho vs. Raven for the TV title? That show wasn't awful.

Actually I'll change to Over the Edge 99, that was the worst ppv in history.

No Limit Soldier
05-15-2010, 09:19 PM
I wouldn't mention Over The Edge 99 in a topic like this. For one thing, it's not hard to see why the people involved in their matches weren't into the matches, especially considering what happened at that event.

As for the topic at hand, Unforgiven 99 wasn't that great of an event, except for maybe X-Pac/Jericho and the Six-Pack challenge.

Supreme Olajuwon
05-15-2010, 09:34 PM
What would you consider worse: a PPV with a bunch of terrible matches or a PPV where someone DIES? Come on now, baby.

No Limit Soldier
05-15-2010, 09:36 PM
It is bad when someone dies, but I wouldn't mention it in a topic like this, considering how the majority of the thread talks about PPVs that had bad matches. Whether or not the matches were bad in terms of quality at Over The Edge, can you really blame the wrestlers for not performing well?

Supreme Olajuwon
05-15-2010, 09:40 PM
Of course the other PPV's are talked about because of the bad matches. That's because this is the only PPV where someone actually DIED.

I paid for Extreme Rules 2010. Because of that show I will NEVER pay to watch a PPV again. I hadn't bought a PPV in like a decade and now it will probably be another decade.
