Early reports indicate that last night's episode of TNA Impact scored a 1.00 rating, with 1.3 million viewers. The show increased viewership in the key 18-49 male and 18-49 adult demographic, which was the driving force behind the higher rating.

Last night's WWE Raw averaged a 3.05 rating off a first hour 3.00 and second hour 3.10 rating.
The show also averaged 4.15 million viewers off a first hour 4.10 million viewers and second hour 4.20 million viewers.
Raw's 3.05 rating was the lowest since the December 8, 2008 episode averaged a 3.01 rating.
Some recent low ratings for Raw include a 3.15 rating two weeks ago on April 5, a 3.18 rating for the universally-panned December 21 episode, and a 3.15 rating on November 30.

1.3 million viewers ain't bad. I wonder how many people TIVO TNA and watch Raw.
Ouch! But I don't think this week should really be seen as anything significant apart from the point that a good TNA show has the potential to attract pseudo-Raw viewers.

Ouch? Isn't it up about .2? Especially good on a night Dancing With the Stars did a big number
But I still say the replay number will probably be the one to watch
EDIT:Unless the ouch was for Raw. In that case, disregard the first half of the first sentence

When did Xero get a name change? And why has Kane Knight seemingly neg repped him to hell?
Ay, the "ouch" was for Raw (I am not a TNA fan by any means)

I'm actually surprised it didn't drop more. Sure it's lower than normal, but WWE has gotta be happy with their ability to 1/4th ass a show and still do decently

I for one, am shocked at Raw's "Low Ratings" here.
But I have to ask, why y'all are so obssessed with ratings.

The same reason we're obsessed with aging in wrestling, underrated wrestlers and Ryan Clark.

They don't mean much to us, but in the business they mean almost everything, so naturally we'd wanna keep track too. Just fun to see how certain things from each show may have affected the rating

Just to clear it up.... Kane Knight only said that because when he makes this thread people go off about him and the ratings...... Just so everyone is on the same page.

Never realized he'd made a ratings thread before. OH WELL.
The quarter-hour ratings breakdown for Impact is in. The show actually averaged a 0.95 off hours of 1.0 and 0.9 (against Raw).
The highest rating of the night was for Q3, which drew a 1.04 rating with Ric Flair talking. Quarters 2 and 4 did a 1.02.
Quarter 5, the first opposed segment, dropped to 0.82 for the end of Jeff Hardy-RVD, opposite Triple H and CM Punk's opening interaction. By Q6 the rating had gone back up to 0.95 but dropped again to 0.87 before climbing back to 0.94 for the ending of the World Title match. In a rarity for TNA, the final quarter hour did a higher rating than the first quarter hour.

Good for TNA.

Cause I wanted to help produce a TPWW commercial. :shifty:
A third of the rating. It's a start. RVD as World Champion is another great start, especially if a long-term feud with AJ Styles ensues. RVD/Styles could be on par with RVD/Lynn once they get a feel for each other's styles (no pun intended).

I doubt everyone will ever be on the same page, though. That's the beauty of diversity. And the ugliness as well.
More specifically, I posted mocking Thrilla or Vegas or whoever asking my obsession with ratings. Amusingly, after the first time I'd posted a topic on it in ages, someone else was the next person to bring it up. You know, like most of the threads tend to be. Though I do, certainly, appreciate FS summing up why ratings might matter.
Having to explain it makes it lose some of its luster.
I also don't blame smarks for getting pissy, since I usually go to the ratings when looking at retarded statements made by the more colourful ones. Though little matters when it impacts one of your favourites. Numbers, reactions, I think the laws of physics would be categorically denied if it somehow inconvenienced the smark estimation of Jericho, Edge, or the Miz.
