Happened to me also. Hadn't even been to the forums before and it said I was banned. No reply from the mods/admins of course.

It was something to do with the request threads not being used. Although I don't understand why it should effect you if you haven't been there before.

You can also try WinMX (www.winmx.com (http://www.winmx.com)) to find them. It's a P2P thing, though, so I don't know how your liking to using stuff like that is, but it could help you immensly.

That sucks, it says I can't register because the admins have disabled it.
